R22 never went into the OTR System in the Older Coaches. Don’t know about the 99 models. . R12 was the juice and it is hard to find. Went with R134 when I had the 91 XL and it ran for 10 years until I sold the camper. Didn’t do a thing but change a few leaking hoses. They say you have to change expansion valves and who knows what else. I didn’t and coach ran fine. Also if getting the 12oz. cans , O’Reilly Auto had um (R134A) for 8 bucks and change. For what the OTR Systems takes,,, and if empty,, a 30 pounder is in your future.

Had the platinum plane and was stranded on the side of I-75 in Atlanta GA. Took the guy forever to get to us, didn’t have the proper tools, lreft us stranded for a few more hours, returned with improper tools, patched the problem and sent us on our way. Same item broke again a couple of hours later while driving. 2nd good Sam guy shows up and was equally useless. Called Prevost PASS and payed out of our pocket to the PASS people. That got us back on the road and back home to FL
Never ever again for Good Sam
While I am sorry to hear about your experience with Good Sam, that does not diminish the results we have seen. I have never had anyone try to do a road side repairs, so that might be the difference, but we have been towed to the correct repair facility all 4 times we have been towed in the last 20 years.

MemberJuly 18, 2023 at 8:27 pm in reply to: Rayford Road RV Resort (Roberts Resorts) Spring TX50amp 240v should be able to power 4 AC units. Each should be 15-20amps and you just need to worry about startup surge.
Victron inverters have power assist so you can use all 50amps plus batteries to boost as needed. I have 6 AC units on my coach

On our coach, pushing the horn button gives one horn sound, more like an auto horn, and pressing harder sets off the air horns. Have you tried something like that?

nice
thursday abounds like a great day, you flying in to Columbus or rickenbacker?

Thanks for the replies.
Went to check out bus this am. Yes, you’d think I’d hear a leak of this magnitude. Crawled around under bus for about 20 minutes with my spray bottle and couldn’t find a leak. Went up front to see if there was any pressure left in brakes and both tanks were still at about 70 psi!!
I’ll figure it out eventually.

Whoa I’m also an hour outside dayton… northern Columbus 🙂

Thanks for the links, I am reading them.
I think the front 5 port 3 way valve is part of the problem. On multiple occasions this valve has opened its exhaust port (#5) and stayed open, even when coach is completely off, literally minutes after absolutely zero activity with the suspension!
When this happens, I have observed at least 2 times that the front air bags empty and the coach drops to bump stops. I am pretty sure this has happened to the rear as well (not at the same time as the front, but not sure if both left and right rear dropped at the same time).
Could this be the level manifold and solenoids instead of the norgren 5-port 3-way?
Since the front just dropped, I am going to air it back up, turn off the ignition, then immediately dump the aux tank to zero. If this norgen randomly deicdes to dump the air and subsequently drop front or rear, then I have to assume the level-low manifold and solenoids are not the problem (this is assuming absence of air pressure signals always leaves the norgren closed) and it is the nogren.

Hidden 75 – Agree…it’s just a compressor and if properly installed, I, too, do not understand why it has been said they will fail in 6 months.
If one will read the spec sheet for the 15K and compare to the 12K, one will find the compressors have the same displacement.
Here is how a marine ac distributor rep explained it in an email inquiry:
This compressor was originally made directly for Cruisair by Tecumseh for use in marine air conditioner that utilize water-cooled condensers. Water-cooled condensers run at a relatively low condensing temp, which produces more capacity. The original made for Cruisair will be labeled at 15,000 BTU’s because of this when it is a 12,000 BTU’s compressor. Since Tecumseh no longer makes this only for Cruisair they are now rated at 12,000 BTU’s. They have the same displacement, so they will pump the same capacity. When used in water-cooled condensers, they will have the same BTU’s. (15K)

Battleborn are severely overpriced. I have 2x400ah 12V EG4-LL batteries connected to a Victron Quattro 5000w inverter. 1800w solar with victron MPPT and 50DN with wakespeed ws500 controller.
Victron is by far the best inverter and equipment. I’m having an issue with my EG4 batteries not providing enough power and resetting when using AC so I wouldn’t recommend the EG4.
I just ordered a couple SOK 48v 100ah batteries and another 5000w Quattro 48v inverter. Plan is to connect the shore and genny to the 48v inverter inputs then connect that to the 12V input with power assist function, giving me 10k watts on inverter. Hopefully I can add a 48v alternator so I can charge while driving.
The more volts the better the throughout and thinner wiring needed.

You can get a repair kit for $24.20 or a ne valve for $35.95. I just got a quote today from Adams air and hydraulics

I’m with you fellas. I do prefer simple. I just want to be sure that I’m not missing an opportunity to do now what the market will demand later. I’m glad to see that a security system is not universally desired.
I’m reassembling the sliding step cover today after doing a deep cleaning, and lubricating the slide tracks. The 1/4″ steel plate that covers the slide is a real beast! Then I have to add some 3/4″ plywood filler strips to level the floor where the OTR ducts were removed. At that point, I’m ready to take the interior “before” photos and get to work. The excitement is building.
