I’m sure Kathy is a very nice person. The primary purpose of the toad is to carry the bikes.

I was introduced to Prevosts by a good friend 25 or so years ago. He had a GMC RV (Toronado front end) and a 33′ Bluebird prior to his new Liberty. He ALWAYS pulled a toad. I asked why. He said, “what is something happens to the bus?”

The only times I don’t pull a toad is when I’m pulling the race trailer or going no further than 20 miles from HOME.

    Jim and Chris,

Count us in. We now have two small dogs, full grown will be between 5 and 8 pounds. Any issues with bringing the poaches? Yes, we always carry a supply of those small, thin plastic bags, that are necessary for doggie hygiene.

I think the rules for a solar eclipse are no looking at the eclipse directly or you will severely damage your eyes. Am I correct in this? I think you can look at a lunar eclipse without damage.

    Thanks,

The two house shut off switches on my ’03 Marathon XLII are located on the ceiling of the third driver’s side bay. That location is just under the compartment that houses the inverters. These two switches are hard to see just looking into the bay. You gotta get down and look up to see them.

By the time I got up to the coach was probally 20-30 minutes…I shot the rotor and it was 300 degrees, the hub was only 160…a good pair of gloves would of been nice with everything that hot….Caliper shows no real signs of the heat, however change it as we know it got hot…Good catch by Peter always watch your coach..gauges and in mirrors you can see area around wheels..

Are you aware you can go to the Prevost publications page and access the wiring diagrams?

Start here………you may have to play with it a little to pull up what you need, but this page is so important every owner should book mark it.

    Dale,

I can’t and won’t be able to offer an opinion on the asking price of the Liberty. There are so many factors that influence price nobody is in a position to say anything other than more information is required.

I would suggest since you have specific ideas about the age range of the coach you seek that you develop some information that is available with a search of every coach that fits within your parameters. For each qualifying model year gather all the asking prices and determine the range of prices. Then if there are enough coaches that qualify, try to make the same determination for each conversion. If you can try to determine if there is a difference not only between converters, but between 40 foot and 45 foot coaches.

Everyone has what they consider wants and needs. Everyone also has things that are deal breakers. For example if a coach does not have OTR or a private toilet it is not one I will ever consider. You may also have features you cannot live without. Sort your list to see if your wants and needs or deal breakers influence the selling price.

Keep in mind several important things. Certain items have definable costs so you can modify a coach’s value, up or down based on those items. Two coaches of comparable condition, age, and equipment can have a wide variation in actual selling price depending on the age of tires and batteries, air bags, or brake chambers, all of which have a life span. Two identical coaches can have different values if one has a highly detailed service history that shows all service events are current, and the other has no information relating to what has been serviced or not. Two identical coaches can have a substantially different value if one smells of pets, cigarette smoke or mildew, and one has no odors.

As you can see valuing a coach is detailed and even with everything considered, the perfect coach for you may be off the table because it has colors you just cannot live with. There is no substitute for doing your investigation work first on the internet, including establishing your budget, your list of wants and needs, and then putting feet on the ground and seeing coaches.

Last time I had a slow shower drain I just lifted the decorative drain cover off the floor and used something or other to fish hair out of the drain pipe.

OK, so we are all telling tales of some OS moments. Here is mine.

Several years ago while still in the hunt for a coach we visited Blue Bird in Fort Valley, GA. Now we were in our pick-up so roads were not a problem – then. While there we found a really nice peach and pecans place north and east of Fort Valley. Moving ahead several years, we were on a vacation trip through GA heading to Naples, FL.

So we find ourselves in Fort Valley and want to go get some pecans. We are in the “Classic” coach with our pick up in tow. Out this two lane, no shoulders GA road we go. There is the plant off to the left side of the road, we pass a paved road with no signs and it happens to be the entrance for coaches. Well too late for that and the next driveway is only for cars. No where to turn around, no gps and no local road map. Keep going the way we are pointed.

We finally come to a paved road to our right and I take it. Next we come to a fork in the road so we take the right hand fork since that would get us pointed more in the direction we need to go. A short distance later we encounter a section which is lined with Pecan trees on both sides. Going very slow and dodging overhead limbs while also watching the pavement edges right and left, we come to a spot where the road turns to snad clay and leads right down the classic southern drive to the manor house. There is also another sand clay path that turns off to the right, again in the direction we want to go. We take it and the trees disappear but now we have farm fileds and a farmer plowing with a tractor. I see him and a couple of minutes later look again and the farmer is not where to be seen. His tractor however, is sitting still in the field. I’m thinking he has taken a header having seen our vehicle back in the fields.

We continued ahead, who can back up, and finally come back upon a paved road. We take it and it leads us back to the road with the Pecans and Peaches place. We stopped in the coach/bus parking area, went in and bought what we wanted and then headed south for Naples.

I have no idea how far on that two lane road I would have had to travel to find a turn around area. I’m not going back to find out either!

Hello Diane, if this is the same coach you had in August of 2014 when you had a similar situation going on, Jeff advised you to check the “fuse in 2nd bay should be 15amp wire number 82..”, at that time replacing the fuse was the resolve.
    Hope this works for you….

It is hard for me to understand these old people and how cold to them is anything under 80.

Tom is one of them and he won’t come in my coach anymore unless he has a hoodie on.I now understand why he has deserted central GA for the Sunshine State.

Dear Tom, I have doubled Michael’s dues again. If you wish to add the surcharge for CC owners feel free to do so.

    Carole and Will,

Jeff’s question is a critical one. If you can put the coach in the driving or road position and everything is OK it helps isolate the problem. I believe the operating logic on your leveling system causes the tag axle air bags to exhaust air when the aux system pressure drops below a certain pressure so that might explain the loss of air in the rear.

My initial gut feel is the Norgren valves might be a part of this problem, and if I am on the right track exercising them may be all that is needed for now. Is the air system dry, has it ever had moisture, and how often do you exercise the valves?

Thanks Jeff, got couple 1/4-3/8″ x 5 ft rods, will try, space / clearances are pretty tight from under by the door, unless maybe I go diagonally from middle of the engine compartment with the awning rod…to reach the engine door release

    Hello Group,

I am chasing a leak which goes this way….while driving it seems like the prime, second and aux pressure stays up and pretty solid with the aux compressor off. If I have the aux compressor on while driving all gauges will slowly drop to 100lbs and then cycle back up to 125llbs, prime and seconday. While parked, with aux comp on it takes 60 min before the aux drops to appox 70lbs, and aux comp cycles and stops. If I leave the aux comp off the system holds air much longer before cycling.

Is there a check valve in the aux comp? I have found and fixed a leak up front where the 3 gauge 1/8″ lines feed from but overnight the prime and secondary gauges still slowly bleed down, and turning on the aux comp does not raise prime and seconday gauge pressure.

When aux comp is running there is a musical noise like air flow noticable back by the bathroom/bedroom area.

Is this going to be the R-12, 14 valves also?

Thanks for all the great info you all provide.

    Tim,

It sounds as though you are losing shore power. You can verify that by looking at the AC1 input which is probably zero since you’re inverting. Also, unless you have changed the charge settings, every time you lose shore power, the inverters go to bulk charge as soon as power comes back. Suggest you set the bulk/absorption charge time to zero so they stay in float while you sort this out.
