new LED running lights
I have a 98 XL and decided to replace the side running lights with LED’s I put the 2 rear ones on the left side (a red and an amber) and all seemed well. So, I replaced the remaining ones on the left side. Now the lights won’t come on, the headlights won’t come on, the hazard lights won’t come on, and the horn doesn’t work. i checked all the fuses by the door and none are out. i’m not an electrician, so i’m pretty much stuck. Check in the steer compartment for tripped breaker.

i checked those and none of the fuses were pushed out. I bought the lights from superbrightleds. The are 9-14.8VDC. they came with a pigtail positive wire which i connected to the line from the coach that powered the old lights. The white ground wire was connected to one of the mounting holes so it grounded to the coach. If a fuse or something is shorted, I must be doing something wrong, but dont know what.

Does the coach start? Is there a chance you had the key on during installation and forgot it?? Sorry have to start with the easiest first…

Coach runs fine. Key was not on. What baffles me is that the horn does not work either.

I’m struggling trying to find what is common to all the non working components.
Is it possible there are multiple problems, unrelated to one another that just happened to occur at the same time? I really don’t put much faith in coincidences.

Are you aware you can go to the Prevost publications page and access the wiring diagrams?
Start here………you may have to play with it a little to pull up what you need, but this page is so important every owner should book mark it.

I would remove the new lights one at a time and check to see if you shorted a live wire on the coach body when tightening the screws on the housing. There has to be a breaker or fuse popped somewhere,but something caused it to short out,probably a pinched wire against the body. Lacey

rear breaker box. been awhile but if you don’t get it I have had all mine apart and will try to help. bob

Mine is not a Prevost, but I had a short issue with the rear brake lights, that also killed the horn. It turned out to be
a problem with my relays. I swapped the horn relay with a new one and it worked. Same for my brake light
problem. Just a thought.
