Harry, when any of us have to chase electrical issues we cannot do without a good multi-tester. While checking the condition of batteries by starting the generator or turning on a light is certainly a fast, simple test there is no substitute for actually being able to measure voltage.
I do not know if you have a 12 or 24 volt coach, but we have had owners able to spin the coach engine because the 24 volt side of the chassis electrical system was fully charged, but the DDEC that requires 12 volts wouldn’t work because the 12 volt side of the system was dead. I am not saying you have a similar issue, but chasing your problem is likely going to require a tester at some point.

If I understand correctly (which may be an terribly inaccurate assumption), the trick would be to load the generator to about 75% of max for a few hours. On a 20kw generator that would require pulling about 125 amps and I can’t get that to work out with everything I can throw at it using the bus alone. Supposedly I could load more using a load bank hooked into a buddy plug. Lowest voltage the load bank I have access to is 240v so it would take a pull of around 63 amps using that to load to 75%. I agree, a load bank is just a lot of heater coils. Another concern I have is if I pull 63 amps through the 50 amp buddy plug and its 6 AWG wire, things might get thrilling.

I may not have what you have. As we know, the converters do different things. My tank level sensors definitely do not read correctly. However, IF I leave the auto-fill turned on and IF I have city water hooked up, the water will begin to fill when the tank is down to a certain level. I am not sure what that level is but 20% sounds close.
I usually leave the auto-fill off, use water from our tank 4-5 days, then flip it on and watch outside to make sure it turns off when full. It sure beats holding a hose in a filler tube, waiting for it to burb fresh water on me, like I had to do with our fifth wheels.
I thought I had moved uptown when I discovered auto-fill the first week I owned the bus. I was stopping people on the streets to show them my new feature on a 12 year old bus.

Many times inverter issues are masked with bad batteries. You said a few things like sitting a few days and gen power was good.

I believe BF Goodrich is owned by Michelin now. Don`t really think that means much.

We’ve always had good experiences at Flying J’s – BUT we will only go there if it’s one with the dedicated RV spots up front. I’ve seen many a Prevost at them and the trucks are not allowed/don’t park in those spots. Lots of the time we are the only RV there.
Our bus paint is really plain – honestly… I don’t think anyone has ever oogled our bus. Or, maybe it’s because I’m really bad about washing it.
But if I saw Olivia in person I’d be out oogling it!

I do wonder at times how much business Michelin has lost due to the lack of availability of tires. I realize it is not to our benefit to have tires sizes that are not common with trucks, but it would appear getting the correct tire after an on road failure is very difficult.
When we make a planned tire purchase and have trouble getting Michelins of the correct size it proves the scope of this problem is significant. Given the issues with 365 tires I am concerned about their availability, especially if a failure occurs while we are traveling.
Over the years I have had trouble buying 120 size and 315 size so this is not a new problem.
