Never heard of bugs in the tanks. I never hook mine up to dump until I’m 3/4 full and then dump and close. Raise a few head of cattle and spray them for flys and other parasites during the spring and summer months and wonder if you boys could put a few ounces of Permrtthrin or Prolate/Lintox down tank. Some have a odor worse than others but it would kill the bugs and probably wouldn’t smell any worse than the poo. Now if there is a chemical reaction and blows up the tanks, call 911. LOL. Shouldn’t be , as we use them in tanks and around cow poo all the time and so far so good. I wouldn’t hesitate to drop some down if I seen bugs a running around.

You might want to Google drain flys. They are very robust, can live underwater for 24 hours or more, can stay dormant for months, reproduce at a rate greater than rabbits, their life cycle is about 21 days. And yes they can and do travel thru filled pipes, like traps.
Once they are there they are difficult to get rifd of. There are several emzyme products that claim to eat the debris they live on. Restrauants, etc have constant issues with them.

On my coach, which is on 2000 shell, and with Prevost slides, for the front slide to operate cannot have level low or any otherl leveling sytem operating. It must be in the drive position. The rear slide will work with the bus leveled, but not the front since the bus actually unweights the tag axle during the process on the front slide.
I do not know if your bus is Prevost slides, or if you have a different generation slide controller than I do, but thoght this might help.

That was Bill and his family. When we got our first bus, and before we started using it for business we spent as long as 5 weeks at a time in it seeing the country.
As business owners our life had been dictated by our customer’s needs and those of our business. When we hit the road for the first time we intentionally had no schedule other than an FMCA convention which was our first and only planned stop. On one trip we went from Jamestown NY to CA and back via Austin TX. We drove as much as 50 miles a day to 4 or 500 miles a day. We had Woodalls (no internet) and that was how we picked the place we were going to spend the night or a day or two or a few days. The best part for us is if we did not feel like driving or doing anything we didn’t and that was what the bus was all about.

You know who would be a great resourse for planning, would be the family I met at the OKC “no rally” (sorry, I cannot remember their names). It’s the family with children who took a year off and homeschooled the kids and saw all 49 of the mainland states. Now that would take either a LOT of planning or they had a formula for adventure.

Fantastic Fans states you can drive with the fan either closed or open all the way with no issues. They tell you not to drive with it partially open.
