Gordon: My gauge is aftermarket VDO. I had a front and rear radar detector when I bought the coach which I don’t use and stole a wire from the rear detector.

You’re right about that Tom and I should have thought it. A friend of mine has a cruiser and his TV was set up just that way.

We saw the 2 Prevost’s down the road last night but we got in and it was cocktail time (I love the time change when it’s to my advantage!).
We were off early to visit the Archway and then headed East. We planned to stop in Council Bluff and lose a couple of bucks at the casino (rv park) but it was too early so we made it (almost) to Des Moines KOA West. Not a great site. No chance to get level and a weird asphalt ridge to get into the site which we fell off of on the way in. I guess they were making an attempt to get the site somewhat level but the edge of the site falls off nearly a foot with only enough width to keep your front or rear wheel on the grade during the turn, but not both. One or the other is going to fall off the edge. Even with the front end dropped and the rear as high as I can get it, we cannot even get the bubble (level) to move off the upper limit.

My neighbor down Houston way has had problems twice in the last year with newer Michelin tires on his Newell. Sidewall separation. Tore some goodies up when one came loose, Blowout. Wonder what’s the problem. He has a monitor system and said he has never run them low. Said he noticed a vibration and caught the other one before trouble. Fixing to buy tires for mine, as they’re timed out with only about 45 some odd thousand miles on them. Ain’t buying michelin’s.

Without coach information in the signature line or in the body of the message no one can answer your questions. We need coach info.
Also a signature would be nice so we know who we are talking to.
Thanks

Thanks Allan! Yes we will be heading down to Portland and east from there. I loves the dalles area and it truly was a beautiful way to choose to go. We are hitting Redmond on the return, so any campsite suggestions are welcome!
The coach must have a twin as we haven’t been to prevost Langley/Richmond with our bus yet… sure have ordered a lot of parts from there though! If you’re ever on the island please reach out!

I was wrong in my saying of how to determine if piston seal/ring is bad and letting air leak by/across piston. try again have the floor slide open and at the control valve for floor slide remove/open the line that goes to the close side of cylinder and if air is returning from this line then it is leaking past the piston.
I took the easy way out. read didn’t want to expend the work and time to get to the cylinder. and installed an electric controlled valve that is normally closed ahead of the slide control valve with power to the valve at key on. this shuts off air to slide valve when key is off. and I don’t remember where I bought the valve any place that sells pnuematic controls will have one. be sure if you go this way to match valve voltage to source voltage
If I am not making this understandable please feel free to call me and maybe I can explain better, being an old hydraulic/air repairman helped me, and motor coach services told me what to do
cheers

MemberFebruary 10, 2019 at 5:14 pm in reply to: “A funny thing happened on the way to the forum”.John , I know I’am new to this site but I have been driving 30k miles a year for over 8 years now sir . And in my opinion you do not belong in the fast lane . Especially during rush hour . I use lane 2 from the right in traffic so the cars entering from exits do not do as this woman did and try to cut in front of you . Remember we are in no hurry so whats the rush ?
In no way John was this post a criticism of your driving , but an opinion in avoiding grief . Thank you

MemberFebruary 10, 2019 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Cranked With The Key But Started Only From BackThe rear switch has an off, front and rear position. If the terminals when the switch is in the front start position are corroded it generally will not let the coach start.
But I never heard of the switch allowing the engine to spin, but not start.
You might have something else going on Davy.

Happy Birthday from me to, your camp ground superintendent.

bring forward only to catch someone I missed. Next step is on hand testing—if no answer comes forward.

Warm up the engine, put it in high idle and remove the oil filler cap. If you see a lot of blow-by you may have a ring seal / glazed liner problem. How did the rebuilt engine get broken in? On a dyno or on the road?

Michael, just curious, now much would a Cessna like you mention weigh? 65 HP seems so low.

David, While Prevost air fittings can be counted by looking at the coach or maybe even the coach pneumatic diagrams (which are superb at showing detail) there are likely a substantial number of fittings used by the converter so my guess is the number, size and type of fittings is likely coach specific. What my be the correct answer with respect to my coach might be completely wrong for yours.

An air suspension drivers seat, if installed, could possibly contribute to the mystery. I don’t turn on my air seat until I am ready to move the coach. Just another possible contributing factor if the test drive is on a bumpy road.
