DDEC IV ecm output
Trying to understand how ECM out put works . A2 says reverse polarity. Does it act as a varible ground (-VE) or is it simply on off. I am wanting to add a air solenoid triggered by 180Deg on off at 165 sensor. Bob

Horton air clutch for fan.. A2 supose to have all sensor input to turn fan on/off. Confusing part is the pin indicates it is reverse polarity(DDEC IV book)

bring forward only to catch someone I missed. Next step is on hand testing—if no answer comes forward.

I don’t know if you already have it but below is a link to a DDEC IV Application and Installation Manual. In briefly looking through it, starting on page 3-23, it looks to me like it might answer some portion of your question as I understand it. Although I’m not confident that I fully understand your question.

Hard headed Ken on BCM says when the ecm turns on the outputs they become grounds.
