Signed up for Bella Terra and, although they asked me the age of the coach (15 years), they didn’t ask for pics or make any comment about the age of the coach.

In fact, they said I could come in three days early and stay three days later than the rally, at the same rate, so no worries about the age of a Prevost at Bella Terra, despite the advertisment on this website.

You forgot one reason for working on your own coach…its FUN. At least it it for me. I enjoy wrenching and trouble shooting and coming up with new and innovative ideas. Maybe that is just the engineer in me, but I enjoy it.

With the number of other non-Prevost tag-axle coaches now appearing to be increasing in numbers, are the Prevost/successful person haters anti-them as well? Is the guy in his brand new King Aire getting the same grief, or is it just reserved for the stainless and ‘H’ guys I wonder?

On edit: as & when we are in possession of our bus, we will be the first ones to go and say hi to our neighbours. There is nothing worse than someone (Prevost owners or otherwise) that thinks they are better than anyone else.

Central States Coach Parts 847-364-4788 Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

December 2012, $156.47 does two calipers – one axle.

At the time, Prevost was higher than that for one caliper.

Prevost part 62-1371 = Central States CFD – 268. Be vintage sensitive.

    Mark,

I am puzzled by the statement that you were charged for asking questions.

Under what type of agreement would any service center attempt to charge a Prevost owner for inquiries? I do know that a Country Coach Center that has opened does require a charge if you do indeed seek to talk to a technician…. fully knowing that the CC Center will not be doing the work… I understand this situation because they are trying to be a profitable entity and are not obligated to provide access to their salaried people without some revenue being produced.

    Just asking your thoughts.

    Tom and Jon,

I think we have a total of 11 so far. So if everyone is traveling with a significant other we are at 22. I will have Aubrie post a list of those that are registered.

    Charles and Tamara,

Sorry for the delayed response. We are currently traveling back to Lakeland from PA (Thank Goodness) minus a small “hiccup” that left us in Roanoke for the night unexpectedly, we are back on the road and hope to be in Lakeland tomorrow afternoon.

I hope the flyer answered your questions. If not, please do not hesitate to give me a call directly.

As far as Burt goes, the latest update is he will be traveling with his posse, and we will be dead center of all the hub bub! As of now, I think there will be 60+ Bandit cars attending, the 2 Big Rigs from the Smokey and the Bandit, as well as the Police Car. Burt will be signing autographs on Friday and Saturday in the Cessna Building, and Saturday night he will be introducing the Drive In movie of Smokey and the Bandit that we will be presenting on site at Hangar E for all of us to enjoy! And as always we will make sure you have the best seats in the house!

    More entertainment to come!

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

At least that is an idea, Tom. What to do about it……dunno.

Yes, after talking with Jon at lunch the Agreed Value sure seemed like a good idea, but to increase my premiums from about $3500 (after looking at them again) to $6000 is nonsensical. Theoretically they are insuring the same value, regardless, just agreeing to it in advance instead of fighting over it after.

The value is what the value is, but that increase in premium doesn’t seem likely, note the term “likely”, to be worth the asking price. Some incremental increase, sure… a few hundred dollars in addition to the cost of the appraisal. But THREE THOUSAND?

The membership dues are putting a strain on the fortunes of Tom and Jon. And then Tom goes and gives away another membership. Something is wrong with this picture.

I had a somewhat similar problem on my recent trip. I had recently had major engine work done as well. The turbo would spool up then drop out. Blew large amounts of smoke and threw codes and CEM light like crazy, no power frequently. Most where EGR and Turbo codes. Because I was on the road heading back to TN I stopped at American Fleet Services in Springfield to let them look at it and also get a feel for their shop since they advertise on PC.

The shop foreman (and certified DD mechanic) immediately took me out on the road with the computer hooked up. Logged the codes and headed back. Opened up the back and started to check things out. Within 10 minutes they found the Delta 50(?) sensor off the engine laying on the the turbo tube. This sensor is the electronic brain for the EGR and somewhat the Turbo response. 15 minutes and a new sensor and the bus was like new. The previous shop failed to bolt it in place so it came off after a few hundred miles. Cost of the part $100 plus time. Very happy they did not start with all of the big stuff first.

As to the shop I liked it. Smaller, family owned and DD certified. No recent Tech school grads as mechanics. A significant part of their business is re-maning engines. Thus they have most parts on site and are used to major Detroit work. Alsp there major work is on buses. There were 6 or 7 there with two entertainer buses from Nashville when I came through. Although just one experience at Fleet, from that I would recommend them. Also if you call first they will take appointments unlike my experience at the big corporate shops.
