Prevost Appraisals
Earlier a couple of members were impacted by the need for accurate appraisals for their coaches. The lack of one accurate appraisal prevented a coach sale. In the second instance a member was jerked around trying to get an accurate valuation for purposes of an agreed value insurance policy.
As a result we spent a lot of time trying to figure out how our members can get accurate appraisals. An article covering that is now in our articles section and it provides information on two companies who come recommended and who also have experience in appraising Prevost conversion.

appraisal you’ll be armed with two sources that you can trust as
being familiar with Prevost.For
those of you that also visit the POG site, you will notice that
anytime something good is done here on PC, we have one disgruntled
individual who immediately runs over to the POG site to post for the
4 members and does his best to discredit, make derogatory little
comments and suggest all kinds of childish retractions in order to
get his 4 POG buddies to agree with him so he can then sit back and
glow at his pathetic accomplishments. This serves no other purpose
than to jab a stick in Jon or my eye’s and many probably find it
pretty funny, at his expense.It
would be much better if this sour grape dude had the balls to just
post here on PC, he registered under a fictitious name and reads the
forum everyday. Must be he thinks the PC site has value! Nah,
never mind, you’ve all run across this childish behavior before, it’s
kind of sad.Subject

No doubt a service that any of the PC members can take advantage of or, if they choose a different route, nothing holds them to using these two appraisers.
I’m still impressed with the work Jon & Tom put forth, whether you always agree with them or not, for no compensation other than their love of their hobby … the Prevost.

I agree with Tim, and I also want to thank Jon and Tom for all they do for us members thru this great website.When you have over 2200 members and all of the Prevost converters monitoring and placing ads for their coaches, this supports the fact this is the best of all sites for any Prevost enthusiasts. And again thanks Jon and Tom.

I’ve said this before…… this PC site actually helped sway us towards a Prevost as we were strongly looking at Newell.
Everyday that I open the PC site, I learn something new. I can’t wait until the Prevost ‘part 2’ seminar at ETLC in October.
Jon, I promise to never bring up engine size/hp again (that thread developed a life of it’s own). LOL! We are pleased with the Volvo D13, power, etc.

Thanks guys. We appreciate your comments. Just so everyone is aware I spoke at length to both appraisers mentioned, and both came to my attention not only from people I respect, but the insurance companies that provide coverage for our conversions also recognized them and suggested them.
More importantly however is the clear message I got when researching the article. Make certain you are protected with an “agreed value” policy so you are sure of what your premiums will buy you. Also mentioned was to use the insurance companies that do understand Prevost conversions by several experts I spoke to regarding the article.

i found the discussion on coach appraisals interesting, especially when it started producing IFD (internet forum drama). My first motorhome was destroyed in a fire, and I learned first hand the danger of dealing with an agent that didn’t know anything about RV’s and the importance of “stated value.” The threat of an army of lawyers releasing a litigation cloud produced a check from Farm Bureau.
BUT WHAT WAS REALLY INTERESTING WAS THE MENTION OF A FAKE PC MEMBER REGISTRATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT TOM. I KNOW HOW TO MAKE DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT TOM, BUT CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE FAKE PC REGISTRATION?

The work was in talking to as many people as possible to verify what we were told. I do know Mike and Patrick do know Prevost coaches and they will not be confused when you talk about specific converters or features. There may be other competent appraisers out there, but their two companies were recommended across the board so I have confidence the grief Tommy had to put up with need not happen again.
Jim and Chris may consider using either so they have a real appraisal to help buyers and the buyer’s lenders understand how much value their coach truly has compared to a lousy and inaccurate NADA valuation.

Very good read. We have been using Mark Koch to appraise vehicles since 2009. Great guy, knows busses and vintage airstreams. Our insurance agent, Miller Insursnce, turned us on to Mr Koch

We also used Mr. Koch for our appraisals, very professional, detailed appraisals, accepted by financial institutions.
Need to understand the fake registration for PC, unless this is just figure of speech?

This is off topic but we have people register under assumed names. That was expected from the beginning because some owners want to maintain their privacy and we respect that.
But to avoid people with evil intent we do use all the information available to us to verify the legitimacy of a registrant including looking at the IP address. As of this morning we have had 4897 people register. But only 2200 were provided with a password. The reason being is we try to block those we perceive as a threat. We block IP addresses from some countries because they are presumed to be hackers. We block some people because they appear to want to sell something and we have had two slip through (and were deleted) only to try to sell furniture or adult toys.
We have had a few that are no longer welcome. We deleted them for a variety of reasons. In the most dire of instances we blocked their IP address, but usually we just delete the registration. My point is we are no different than any other site or forum. If we want access to any forum without registering, or by registering under phony credentials we can do so and I am sure the same happens to us.
In the instance Tom mentioned above a former member made a very serious attempt to undermine our fuel discount program, going so far as to post on numerous sites how poor the program was and offering a credit card substitute. He did it on a widespread basis, never asked Tom or I to consider if we could his credit card as an alternative (which we would have if it had merit) and literally told people to drop the PC plan and use the credit card he promoted. He was asked to leave. He doesn’t like us. He undoubtedly registered under an assumed name or he is using someones password to read all of your posts. Then he ridicules PC on POG. It is like a baby stamping his feet when he doesn’t get his way. The secondary issue is the owner of POG allows the attacks which is a shame.
We both spend a lot of time to protect our forum from attacks by hackers, from people who don’t belong but we can’t stop determined people from access without going to extremes so we have to tolerate the impact of that situation.
