Hey Harry,Any updates? Inquiring minds want to know!

Bill, we don’t go on the road more than three weekends in a row. We always have to be within a day or so of driving distance to home.
Right now I use a dedicated 50a/240V circuit just for the drying crate. It has two heated crate dryers, a commercial carpet dryer/blower, a normal blower, and a window fan to remove the humidity from the room.
That, and the large amount of water needed to wash, rinse, condition, and rinse the “mop dog” really put a burden on a grooming facility.

I believe they are available for $ 111 per light through Prevost…delivered.
I, too, am puzzled about the best replacement. I have reviewed the threads on PC and do not know which is best versus the potential costs. I would like a fresh stronger light and would appreciate the thoughts of any who have replaced these lights… are they in fact 1991 Ford lights?
Are there new, better replacement lights that fit the exact dimensions of these?
Thank you,
Pres

Sam,
Make sure the GFCI for the forward outlets has not tripped. They are 120V and on the forward outlet circuit. If that circuit is dead the shades will not work. The outlet with the GFCI is the one upside down under the microwave.

The officer not looking also caught my attention,I am pleased to see how the Prevost faired in this situation as the car looks to be totally destroyed.

“This is the same dreaded message you receive while
driving in extreme heat and the cruisairs will shut down due to the hot
highway and they usally won’t come back on line until is get cooler.”I kept getting the same “HI PS” shutdown on our rear cuiseair unit this past weekend. We were in 105 degree heat, sitting in an open field at a music festival. I tried spraying the ground beneath the bus with water, and that didn’t help. I then tried blowing a large fan under the bus, and that seemed to help some. We just had one shutdown of the rear air unit after that. All was well after the temperature dropped below about 95 degrees in the evenings. But, once the “HI PS” shutdown ocurred, the unit would not run until after several hours of cooling passed. I never could figure out why just the rear unit out of four cruiseairs was affected, however.

I meant to reply to this earlier and got side-tracked.
“It’s as if the secondary unit is just a booster? but it has its own compressor… never figured that out !!!”
The secondary is exactly as you describe, a booster (on the SCS R-VAC model 2702). The primary (Circuit #1) and Secondary (Circuit #2) ARE NOT identical.
The primary drives a 1/3HP blower and the secondary drives a 1/4HP blower.
The Secondary has a lower circuit ampacity requirement than the Primary. 20 amp required for the Primary and 17.4 amp for the secondary. This was an intentional difference as the Secondary can be wired to a “Secondary” (i.e., read as “inferior”) power source. The thermostat is where the magic happens that makes these look like a single system.
I know that these seem like trivial differences, but if I have a problem and end up considering a replacement, I want not only comparable capacities, but comparable functionality. Currently, I have not figured out the pros and cons of having this secondary power source capability when Vantare’ implemented the R-VAC entirely through the inverters. If I spent more time at campgrounds with only 30AMP services (and it has happened). I might find this useful and end up wiring up a transfer switch.

I have been hauling my drag racing cars on a flatdeck open trailer for years using the ratchet straps from http://www.summitracing.com. They are rated at 5,000 lbs, under $100 for a set, that includes 4 ratchet straps and 2 axle straps. Never had a problem with the car moving.

Terry If you can’t the help you need while in Bar Harbor and are coming through Bangor call Cyr Bus.
Ask for Matt Gilman. This company has prevost buses they use for tours and may have what you need
in stock. Let them you are traveling through. They will be willing to help if they can. They are located
in Old Town, 15 miles north of Bangor. If you you need tools let me know, I’m sure I have what you would
need to do the fix if you want to repair yourself. I would be glad to help you with the repair as well.
I live in Hermon next to Bangor. Rick

Thanks all,
The best I can tell the Prevost datalink (Detroit, Allison, etc…) does not go through the ECC, although it may. For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone try to modify a standards based datalink. I had assumed that CC simply intefaced the glass dash computer to the Prevost provided datalink, just like Silver Leaf does.
I’ll reach out to the expert and see what he says. I was going to hook up the Silver Leaf interface I had from my last coach, but the data connector is not the same. I’ll be calling Silver Leaf to get the right one.
Again, thanks all,
Gil
