XLII Headlight Leak
Posted by Edward & Sandy on November 17, 2015 at 11:39 amI have water in one of our orignal headlights. I have dried it out, but figure it will happen again. I have been told that they are a FORD item. What year Ford and replacement?

I have been looking for a better alternative than the original since my coach was purchased. The shell I have seen stocked at Prevost was marked 1991 Ford Bronco but I think the F150 ‘s used the same shell assembly. Replacements are readily available as an aftermarket product and all seem to be the same plastic shell and lens as the original. From what I have read the aftermarket units can be even more cheaply made than the original but you can at least get a price comparison. The amount of night driving I due versus the price of the conversions I have seen have kept me from the upgrades many owners have made. -
I believe they are available for $ 111 per light through Prevost…delivered.
I, too, am puzzled about the best replacement. I have reviewed the threads on PC and do not know which is best versus the potential costs. I would like a fresh stronger light and would appreciate the thoughts of any who have replaced these lights… are they in fact 1991 Ford lights?
Are there new, better replacement lights that fit the exact dimensions of these?
Thank you,
Pres

Capt and Pres, on our previous XL we had Parliament polish the stock lenses and had the HID bulbs and ballast installed behind. Total cost was less than 6000 and we had the advantage of HID with the original look. We didn’t like the look of the newer round lights on an XL or the price. Geo.

Checked back to 1990 Ford headlights. I dont see anything that looks like it would work. If I can fing a new lense I might try the HID type
