Prevost has a 1000 pound limit (higher on newer coaches) at a point 8″ out on the hitch as well as a 10,000 towing limit. This is undoubtedly because the engine cradle is not intended to carry much more weight than the engine.

There is a kit that increases the capacity to 20,000 towing limit and a 2000 pound tongue weight.

I have seen coaches that have had lifts or trailers that exceeded the limits and the stresses imposed on the coach are clearly seen in cracks on the rear cap, and others on this forum have reported structural damage and cracks in the frame and engine support. I wouldn’t consider any trailer or lift that exceeds the Prevost limit.

We were in stealth mode. Debi ran around with her camera so she may be the only one to record the goings on in MB.

    Dr. Pat,

There may be a reluctance for folks to jump in and give answers because some of the problems are not going to be solved with a few words or phrases.

An older coach with an unknown history is especially difficult to diagnose because as some coaches age their owners are reluctant to service and maintain them properly and subsequent owners pay the price. The internet is a lousy place to diagnose problems, but there is hope. First, put your meter away and seek out a person who not only is comfortable with the electrical systems, but also knows your conversion. Let that person do the trouble shooting and repair.

It could be as simple as a loose terminal, a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, or it could be something serious like a dead short. Whatever the problem, have it repaired properly. I ordinarily will not hesitate to help owners do their own work, but the consequences of messing with electric can be serious and hazardous. The right person can safely diagnose and repair the problem.

Sometime ideas come from the strangest places.

For what ever reason, I was at a golf course, certainly not to play golf. While standing around and waiting I heard a loud hissig sound, turning to see what it was all about I saw a golfer standing at a cabinet that had several air hoses and nozzles, she was blowing her shoes clean. Instantly I saw a quick disconnect and short coil hose inside the entry door to my bus. Those with the hinged step compartment will have a better time with this.

If you don’t know why I would want the hose, well never mind. You don’t need one.

I forgot yours is a converted seated coach and the differences are many. Glad you got it all sorted out.

    Jim,

Was it ready to go? I need him to get a quick turn around, I’m working like a sled dog while he’s stimulating the economy.

If you have time, sure would be nice to hear a report on how you like the X-3, although what’s not to like!

Yes Charles, you can delete your own reply to a post, just make sure your signed in and not a guest. We are also going to be getting a different calendar that will be much easier to use.

Glad the batteries are making sparky….

My initial reaction was to poll owners on this site to see if we could gather data to measure how we stack up against others, but I quickly realized there are so many items that skew the quotes such as state of domicile, deductibles, limits, driving record, credit history, etc. that I am just going to see what falls out as I stir the pot. I doubt if gathering information is going to be fast or easy, but then again I am stubborn.

I have already spoken to an insurance specialist about putting on a seminar at our planned 2013 PC rally. If there are any insurance experts amongst us on PC would you have an interest in adding to this thread?

Which would suggest Truk is a lot older than he professes to be. John is normal size.
