Here is what my Prevost Owner Manual says:

“A/C” warning light

This light is designed to light up when the “A/C” system is not working properly. If this happens, first stop “A/C” system, then perform the following checks:

Check the condenser for obstruction. Clean if necessary. (Refer to “Maintenance Manual”).

Check that the evaporator and condenser motors are operating.

Check evaporator filter for cleanliness.

Clean or replace as required. (Refer to “Care and Maintenance” section, page 6-9).

Check the air return duct(s) for obstruction. Ducts are located on the left side or on both sides of the vehicle floor, approximately in the center. Clean if necessary.

After these checks, test the system. If the “A/C” warning light does not turn off, set the “A/C – heat” switch to “OFF” position, and seek qualified service assistance.

So, it’s an “AC Warning” light. Maybe for high pressure or maybe for low pressure. In your case it sounds like its for low pressure because the system isn’t blowing cold air. The low pressure safety switch will cycle the AC system on and off.

On our bus, the evaporator and condenser fan relays, R38 & R39, in a box in the condenser bay(see pic), have a high failure rate. I change them every few years before they fail.

I might start.

Apparently the tag axles lift mechanism on our coach wasn’t lubed at some point in its life (was taken to a Freightliner shop often), it bound up, won’t turn, and bent the rod on the brake chamber that lifts the chain and only one side goes up.

You guys that do lift, how long before the coach gets back to full ride height in back after you lift the tag, the coach settles on the drive axle bags, they fill up, etc.? The one time I tried to lift the tag (when I didn’t know much) the coach squatted down, I drove out of the driveway, turned and the driveshaft loop hit the crown of the road. I suspect should of waited for the rear to come to ride height.

I had same issue. Went to a mom and pop RV dealer. They said the fitting is for an airstream trailer. Had the fitting in stock.

I just had a new Kenwood system installed and haven’t had a chance , which will come next week, to use it on the road yet. It has all the bells and whistles and is designed for over the road trucking use with all of the associated info such as bridge clearances and such in it. I can give an evaluation after my upcoming trip to Naples but I think that I’m gonna love it. It also gets Sirius radio and is the screen for the rear view camera. It Bluetooths to the phone for hands free phone service and other things such as waze.

Damn, I’m so glad to know that when I get to Jon’s age I will know all these kinds of things.

Now all I need to do is buy another Bus so I can practice all these tricks I’ve learned from Jon.

If you can’t find a DC source in the rear for the repeater, use an AC/DC 12v converter and plug into any AC outlet. They’re less than 20 bucks at Pressure Pro.

Congrats and best wishes on the new coach.

For anyone looking for a 40, I have seen Buddy’s coach and I know how much I paid for mine, and how

I have the same gauges that Don showed pictures of, my house gauge is a 24 volt gauge. Good idea on the cigarette lighter.

Jon: Still have the old inverters with the light bars. Where do you touch the probs to get the accurae house battery voltage readings?
