I have the same problem with the site but I think it’s only when I log in from a non-Windows device. It’s annoying but only one click extra. On my Windows computer I do not get the message that I am logged in and the user name and password are saved and entered automatically so all I have to do is click the Log In button.

Yep, just peel it off. It might has some little rubber “tits” on the back that go in holes in the flapper if it’s never been replaced. No worries about the holes left behind as the new gasket just sticks and covers the holes. Just clean well before installing the gasket to ensure a good stick.

I’m no battery/electrical expert, but there is a battery management system in place for these, isn’t there? That would balance the state of charge between the packs. In the case for lithiums, it’s even more critically important for longevity. LiFePO4 batteries have, or are supposed to have, built-in protection circuits to prevent over/under-charge conditions.

Keeping the lithiums as close to human-comfy temperatures yields best performance and life, IMHO. While I do not yet have a Prevost (still hunting for the perfect one for me), the move to lithiums is on a want-to-do once I get a bus. Thanks for sharing the info!

Found a really good Video on wiring parallel with bus bars, Did a charging test and a discharge test last thing he said was 3 batteries was a good idea 4 batteries was a must

High idle (950 to 1000 or so) should always be used. Keeps oil pressure higher, cylinder temps higher and also keeps the alternator(s) running more efficiently. That is especially true if you have a/c running. I was shown info from both Delco and Leece Neville reps about alternator output at dead idle and at high idle while in the trucking business long before I bought my first bus.

I don’t like to leave it idle, even at high, more than I need, but I don’t shut it down for short stops.

I don’t think it matters if it is an older Detroit, a Cummins, or a Volvo. They all like higher speeds at idle.

You should never leave a Detroit iding for an extended period of time. This info comes from multiple interactions with Detroit people as well as American Fleet in Springfied, MO. These folks specialize in Detroit 8V and series 60 engines. They are the go to folks if you ever need major work done on your engine. They can have an engine pre-built for you so that when you arrive, they pull yours out, do the voodoo that they do and put the new engine in and have you on the road in a couple of days. It’s amazing!

If at all possible, tie all positives and all negatives to a heavy bus bar for pos and neg. Use equal length cables to tie to the bus bar.

This is the preferred method when wiring LiPoFe to minimize imbalance between batteries.

Yeah, yeah, I know the internal BMS is “supposed” to take care of that. But you asked.

Art, what you have in the picture is a parallel battery connection. In your post you mention wiring in Series which is negative to positive to increase the Voltage. Yes Bus bars are the best.

Low oil pressure is never as good as high oil pressure.
