We replaced ours with a manual foot flush ball valve porcelain Sealand (now owned by one of the big outfits, Dometic I think). Couldn’t be happier. Way less water use, silent night time flushing, easy to clean, no more electrical issues.

Mike,
That’s really interesting. My 2000 Royale XL that I sold last year drove exactly like that. No noise and could drive with my finger tips. According to the vin that Royale was built 10 shells after my current CC. So it should be the same.
Also interesting is I have not checked the filter so that could be a problem, but I also have a slight leak at the PS pump. Not sure if it’s 90 degree fitting on the bottom that is the source or it’s leaking at the flange and dripping onto the fitting.

Mine acted that way when i brought my bus home, i pulled out the filter and it was plugged solid. there should be pictures on here. 2 weeks ago, I replaced my PS pump, and Voila! quiet as can be. It wasn’t the noise that made me change it, it was the fact that it was leaking thru one of the case flanges. It would ratchet sometimes when i would make right or left turns, I can drive with my pinky now. I think the pump was damaged due to the plugged filter.

MemberFebruary 23, 2025 at 8:44 pm in reply to: LiFePO4 Upgrade for Marathon XL’sHey all,
Any Marathon XL converter owners out there performed the lithium upgrade? Looking to upgrade this year during the summer just want to get some insight on the in’s and out’s and things I should look for. Also I have Xantrex SW 3024 inverters which shouldn’t be an issue from what I have read so far.
If you keep it simple meaning just replacing the batteries, I will assume you currently have AGM? If so, the charge profile is very close to AGM, it is an easy swap. If you have other things you want to do like changing the battery voltages, swapping out the inverter, adding Solar etc, there are more things to consider.

My power steering pump was leaking from the case halves, I just replaced mine along with my compressor. Pretty easy job on my bus.

Yes, this will be my one-and-done bus RV purchase for the long term…until I’m kaput. The best part is I’m in no rush and won’t have to finance so, when I find the right one, I won’t be hesitating to jump on it. Cash is king.

MemberFebruary 21, 2025 at 11:14 am in reply to: LiFePO4 Upgrade for Marathon XL’sI have a question about how to handle the 12V starting batteries and 24V LiPoFe setup.
I am no stranger to LiFePo, I ran a selfmade 1000ah bank for 10 years.
I am a stranger to the 12/24V setups in the Prevost world.
It makes perfect sense to me to install 24 V LiPoFe to minimize balance problems, utilize the monster 24V 50DN. I understand adding DC to DC converter(s) to provide 12V to the house. This would pretty much take the Vanners out of the equation for the house.
But how do you handle the 12V starting batteries that are wired 2S/2P. Would you still use the Vanner to keep them equalized? Would you simply wire them 2s2P to the alternator and not worry about it? Is there another solution that I am missing.
Thank you for your input.

If you have scouted the ads you will see some coaches on there for a long time. They are either junk or overpriced.
I know it is a national sport to brag about how cheap something you purchased was, but to find exactly what you want in excellent condition is about as easy as picking fly shit out of pepper. If you plan to be a long term owner whatever amount you overspend is chump change compared to dealing with a coach poorly maintained or the grief of having to tolerate features you do not like or want.

Did it make a difference? My CC has three, two red rotary gate and a 90 degree style, make sure all are open. Send me an email with your phone # and a good time to call. I still have a JOB but can sneak away to chat for a few mins tomorrow morning if you are avail. Did you pull the panel off the dash next to the stairs when you come in? there is a blower motor in there and you can feel if the lines are warm when the engine is up to temp. There is also a valve under the front bumper compartment that opens to circulate the coolant thru the front dash to get heat and defrost.
