Same thing in Nebraska for the last week. Natural gas is still the way to go. I wonder if the solar and wind scientist are the same as the qlobel warming people?

I think the fuel burn for the Webasto and genset are overstated which is a good thing. Running my 20KW generator for 170 hours burned 71 gallons of fuel,
The Webasto uses less unless it is bitterly cold because it only fires when heat is called for.

Steve,
I just bought a 2007 Marathon H3-45. While digging into the documentation that was given to me with the coach, I seem to remember seeing wiring diagrams. Let me look tomorrow and I’ll let you know.

MemberFebruary 5, 2021 at 8:53 am in reply to: engine start with compressor in on positionThe starting of the coach is unaffected by pneumatic system air pressure. The only attention required is if the coach is started with zero pressure on the belt tensioners be sure to not rev the engine or go to high idle until the belts are tight.
Given the coach vintage you likely have no reason to run the auxiliary air compressor unless you need to operate some air operated house system.

Angry and sad to hear about this theft. Any “lessons learned” you can share with us, to better secure our coaches?

I’m not only lazy, I can tend to be cheap. Seems like you already have the replacement lock.
But yes, a locksmith can fix whatever is ailing the lock.

Not trying to hijack the thread here, but while on the subject of overheating, I thought I would ask…..My Powertech generator (20k) has always run cool. Gauge reads 165 degrees F most all the time. I have a friend with a sister coach to mine and his temps are more like 199 degrees F.
I had my thermostat changed recently with a replacement thermo I ordered directly from Powertech thinking it was stuck open, etc., and after the change, it still runs right at the 165 it always has. Seems this is the temp it’s designed to run.
I have even check the head temperature with an infared gun and it’s definitely running around the 165 mark. Gauge and the sending unit have been swapped with new, so I’m pretty confident the gauge is correct. To make it even more vexing, my friend with the sister coach recently had his thermostat changed (his was running hot and shutting down) and his ginny is now running around 165 degreees F.
I noticed above that someone referenced 199 degrees F for the running temp. What is the correct temp for our generators? Seems to me a diesel would run better closer to the 199 degrees, but two new thermostats installs indicate 165 is the number.
Thoughts?

MemberDecember 19, 2020 at 9:22 am in reply to: C-As, H20 heater, & cube heaters in cold weatherNo, there is no electric heat in this coach at all. I didn’t look at that when I made the purchase but it would not have been a deal breaker in any case. In our ’88 there was only electric baseboard in the bedroom as a previous remodel had removed the living area heater.
We like the electric option as a money saver since where we usually park the electric is free and we don’t have to use as much diesel with the Webasto.
To correct myself, there are no toe kick style electric heaters. We do have 3 roof airs. 2 are heat pumps and one has an electric strip heater so at least that one would provide electric heat to the living room and kitchen areas during the colder days when the heat pumps will not work. Heat (that rises) is just not as practical as floor heat but I might try the air dump option to blow the heat straight down instead of through the ducts.
