I’ve used RhinoFlex hoses and I am satisfied. I did get a couple of pin holes but I attribute them to my fault since I had the gray water open on a slight uphill and it filled with water then heated up so it built up pressure – Flex Tape works wonders. Live and learn.

I use pre made tubes for the sewer hose from the Dwin corporation. More expensive than Jon’s idea but they’re sturdy and mounted easily.

    From the Prevost Parts Manual:

    Front:

    #410267 – BUMPER, RUBBER Up to H-284

    #410358 – BUMPER, RUBBER From H-285

    Rear:

    #410267 – BUMPER, RUBBER Up to H-284

    #410358 – BUMPER, RUBBER From H-285

    Just maybe…

Tom I also use the same lights as Jd showed, but I didn’t pay Marathon prices, I ordered them off amazon, I think for about $14 each. Expensive but gets rid of a bunch of heat.

Dick I’ve had mine about 2 years, so I would think they are his new ones. Yes the amber are the turns and 3 three reds are the break lights along with big third break light in the middle of the coach just above the engine doors.

But, Mark, how do they put those purty blue lights on the bottom?tongue-out

We’ve had service up in N. Chicago a couple of times. You can get lost in that place with all the different buildings.

Harry I changed my out like Charles did and they were $875.00 to my door. Much brighter than factory, easy to install and can get replacement parts if needed. Oh and mine came from Gil also.

Couldn’t get the fish tank air system tank readers to provide accurate readings. Went with iSeries from Tech Edge. PVC tube fits down into tank. Couldn’t get to sides to apply the strip readers. This has worked very well and installed myself. Gave up on techlink and put reader in bathroom. Push a button, get a reading.

I got almost 8 mpg between Austin, Tx and Murphy, NC while running the OTR and running 55 without a toad. I had a computer glitch at the time and couldn’t go over 55.

On out trip to Branson, MO and Princeton, WV no toad but lots of mountain road and 62 mph my average was 6.5 mpg.

I’m running an 8V92TA Silver… Jon was running an 8V92TA Pink!

August 16, 2018 at 6:32 pm in reply to: Cleaning Radiator fins?

This answer is based on gut feel and may bear no resemblance to a correct answer.

In noticing the dirt, exhaust stains, and road film on the perforated panels on my coach at the radiator it is clear that what is on the stainless panels is also drawn into and through the radiator. But as heavy as the radiators on our coaches are, they are quite fragile and cannot take much abuse, especially the cooling fins.

I know from the literature and experience that Simple Green has a product suitable for aviation use. That version of Simple Green will not corrode or eat into the various metals but it is an excellent solvent that dissolves oily films and loosens dirt. If I sense the radiator will benefit from a cleaning I spray liberal amounts of that Simple Green on the radiator fins and tubes, give it a while to loosen or dissolve the crud and using a gentle water flow from a garden hose I flush it clean. I try to do it from both sides in both directions, but because of the fan shroud it is not possible to do complete coverage from the engine side.

The most important preventive maintenance for a radiator however is coolant changes to the specified schedule and by maintaining the chemistry of the coolant if necessary. The radiators on the Series 60 engines do not seem to be as adversely affected by coolant issues, but the 2 stroke engines such as the 8V92 seemed to plug radiators even with good coolant maintenance.
