Thanks for the info everyone. We are in SW Oklahoma about 3.5 hrs southeast of Amarillo. We usually join I 25 at Raton and then north in the summer and then take a southerly route on I 40 home in the fall.

All roads from our area to Newport, Or. seem to go through Salt Lake. I thought about going to Albuquerque then north on I 25, then to NM 550 to Moab Ut. Anyone been on that one?

I am assuming that you refer to the motors which open and close the awning style windows in the XLII.

3 of the 5 we have in our bus no longer work, either. When you press the open button, they unlock and make a weak attempt at opening all the way before falling close again.

I have been going outside to open them by hand for several years and gotten used to it.

Another reason for getting used to it is the cost of replacing them. There are 2 Swiss companies who make these motors for Prevost and the SKU is a Prevost specific number. So … the Swiss manufacturer does not talk to you and refers you to their US distributor/branch.

Prevost Canada will quote you about $900 per motor.

Several years ago, I obtained a quote from the US distributor, then located in Clearwater, FL, and they quoted me about $600 per motor with a 3 months lead time!

I am still opening windows by hand … 🙂

There is a rear end vent on curb side of you axle housing. Make sure something like wasp or something did not block it. some kind of pressure caused both sides to fail at once. Just a been there situation(easy to check) Mine exited through pinion shaft seal. Slung oil every where. I would completely drain it and clean. Last synthetic 5 gal pail for rear end cost me $170. This is all intended to help you ask ??? Bob

The problem is that only part of it is loose. I don’t think that I can get it off far enough to reattach it safely.

I’ve used some contact cement and clamped it with OK results. It’s not perfect. There is a section of the other side that I can tell is coming loose also.

I think the best long term solution is to replace both trim pieces.

Made it back home without any further issues. All gauges were normal. Clearly, the coach is telling me to stay below 6000-7000 feet during winter. Maybe, the DDEC3 is smarter than I am.

I don’t know what happened to the camp host but I got parked last night on the end and hooked up to the “hidden outlet”. I first thought that there may be something wrong with the outlet but then realized that the camo was to hide it from poachers.
