It does defy logic that burning more diesel is cleaner. It just looks cleaner because there is no more black smoke!!! It’s a liberal feel good thing. It doesn’t really have to work just look like does!

Hey Tim,
I have never had to use anything for that.. I hope most of my camping spots are not that far out of level!!Steve

Jon: That is pretty much how the slacker state “workers” do it here too. It would be too much work to actually do it right so that it would last. They do a crappy job so they have job security. Also then they figure they need more “workers” on the payroll to get them all done so they all do less.

Tom has been in communications with the folks from Hearthside Grove ( http://www.hearthsidegrove.com/ ) and they can accomodate a No-rally rally with an arrival date of Sepember 2nd, and a departure date of September 6.
This is a great time of year to be at Hearthside and it is a first class RV resort.
We would like to get a sense of how many would be interested in attending. Let us know on this thread.

of the 3 Dometic heat pumps we have on our coach, 2 are at least 17 years old. The front one replaced by one of the previous owners. I replaced all 3 of the AC motors and capacitors on each unit this summer. Having a unit (the one that was replaced before) fail was a wake up to look at replacements.
As as you can tell. I like the idea of direct replacement with no further modifications need. A new control unit or broad mods are not an issue. A new temp sensor at each location Is a problem. Especially the bed room.
I appriciate the inputs about the Atwoods. They do sound interesting as I would like a quieter system. From my research the new model Dometic units had a reliability issue and a sound issue (louder than the units I have) when they came out. I’ll do some reading up on Atwoods.
The bottom line, for us, is replacing the units with the least amount of bus down time and keeping costs to a minimum. Downtime because we are full timing it and cost because my wife still serves in uniform & I work as a civilian for the Uncle Sam. Neither gig has big $ but that’s not why we joined or stayed in so long.
Thanks for the feedback and advice

Tom is correct. They have different demographics and Two Rivers is clearly more for people looking for a quieter RV park. Colt definitely fits in with the kids at Anchor Down so there is no surprise he recommends it.

Damn, where’s the revenue stream, I’m still looking! What a pathetic response to a simple question asked, I don’t think you got your money’s worth Dick.:)

Some push in fittings are OK for plumbing, but in our coaches we really shouldn’t risk air leak issues so I use DOT fittings. I won’t even buy compression fittings from the big box stores even though convenient because I want a DOT certification which makes them a little more expensive but I sleep better.

Thank you for your input Peter.
I had looked at a Caravan trip in the past with our other motorhome but we always just did things on our own. We drove around lake Superior in 2008. And, other trips to Canada without the motorhome (train, etc.).
The thing that strikes me as being interesting is everything is planned and they have ‘free’ days included to do your own thing. I like the idea of a ‘tail-gunner’ following the group in case a hose pops, tire deflates, etc.
Since these folks have done this many times, they know the correct camping spots, etc.
Just thought I would ask to see if anyone had partaken. :o)
