Dave on our 99 Marathon, I found that our bay heat was not comming on and after checking it out here is what i found. In your breaker panel you should have a breaker for the bay heater, but it gets a signal from a 110 volt inline thermostat in the roadside water bay behind my outside faucet, near the ceiling of the bay. It is preset to 40 degrees and sends a signal to the breaker/switch to power the plug in the curbside water bay letting the little broan heater come on. So i now have to check the thermostat and the breaker to see which one is not working. Yours may be set up like mine, hope this helps.

Ok here is the photo.. Coach has 105,000 miles. Techs here don’t think this is a lube issue as Diff was full.

As a precaution I am going to have them pull and check the other side and drain and change the Diff oil. Lots of crap in hub. If anyone has any other suggestions post here or call me 314-956-9336. Thanks Bill

No Dick, not yet, a friend in Bradenton might be interested. I understand all that about converter year, shell year and the price being based on title year. I still want to know if Texas was a state that used Vin# year instead of MSO. Geo.

One can never be too careful even if just stopping for some cheap fuel.

    Tim,

Did you ever get a PC head count? For February, we could put up a Rally signup page in our admin so we know who’s coming.

    Tim,

I don’t know the coach or Starlight Motors but they mention Mr. Oliver’s on their site and seem to share at least 1 employee. I believe Mr. Oliver’s has a decent reputation and usually has older coaches. I do know owners who have purchased from him and used his service department and were satisfied.

We were out in MT a couple of weeks ago and that was my first experiance with a retarder. I was surprised when my overheat buzzer came on going down hill. I have driven engines with jake brakes for years and never had the water temperature go up that high. It only happened twice and I was close to the botttom of the hill so I backed off I didn’t think to look at my trans temp.

I pull a 24 foot stacker trailer trailer hauling a car I am not sure if that is normal with a retarder.

Pretty sure that panel is a rubberized type of insulation panel. If the main coach sub-floor above is wood (which I think it is) it would be a no-brainer to take a few wood screws with fender washers to secure it and touch-up damaged areas with some of that expanding insulation the converters use in the wheel wells.

I just wanted to jump in here on the cruise air and roof air difference. I have had a prevost with cruise airs, one with Vantare RVAC and 2 cruise airs and my third prevost has roof airs.I do want to point out the fact that the cruise air coaches are quite a bit noisier when sitting outside the coach around the area of the entertainment bay, say watching TV or just sitting out under awning. Plus you can get some unwanted heat being discharged in this general area during summertime from cruise airs. Just my 2 cents worth.
