Bubble Wall
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with a “bubble wall” in their coach. In our new-to-us 1996 Marathon, there is a bubble wall. We thought at first that it was just a decorative etched glass panel between the shower and the bedroom, but have discovered that it is two glass panels with space between, filled with water. The water level is down about 6 inches, showing a visible water line. We asked the previous owner about it, and he said he never used it and he thought it was empty. It’s not empty but we would like to drain what is apparently 20-year-old water.
In the paperwork that came with the coach, we found four pages of instructions on how to fill, how to empty, troubleshooting, and a schematic. We followed the directions and it fails to drain. Tried activating the pump via the switches labeled “bubble wall” and “high bubbles” but the air pump just vibrates.
Any ideas?

Sounds to me like a clog. Especially since the drain and air pump seem to be clogged. If it were me I would take very, VERY, low air pressure to the drain and see if it helps unclog any debris/settlement that could be there.

Can you find the plumbing/hoses for the drain? There must be hoses, plumbing below “the wall

SouthernLand, I will try some air… might even try a toilet plunger on the outlet in the shower to see if that will loosen something up.
Dick, I have a firm policy against being in freezing weather, LOL.

The record low temps for Hollywood, Florida for Dec, Jan, Feb, and March are 32*F or lower.

I have never heard of that type of wall and wonder what the purpose is/was.

In 6 years of reading and posting about Marathon’s …this is a new one.
Before you do anything at all, take a break and give Leon a call in Coberg, Monday.
With your coach number he’ll have access to the build sheets on your coach.

And I would suggest if it’s not an emergency, you email Leon first ( tsd@marathoncoach.com ) so he has some time to pull the build specs. He’s a busy guy but always returns his emails.

Rick… learning curve is right. Spent the last 23 years in a GM4104. On Thursday we’re going for a short-ish trip to a Southeast Bus Nuts rally in Wimauma, FL. Never been there, but we have lots of friends in that group. Lots of different buses — MCI, Eagle, GM — but they do allow Prevosts to join them. Not sure how to send e-mail address, does this board have a way to PM?

We decided when the site was created to not have a PM feature. One of our objectives was to provide the most security we could for our members and their privacy and if we had a PM feature that could be compromised.
