Millions of cars are around with belts that are tight 24/7 with no problems.

have you driven through the rain recently? I’m wondering if it’s water coming from the wheel well?

Ron, if I understand you correctly, I had a similar situation a while back. It appeared to be the valve, but turned out to be a leaking air cylinder. Check out the thread below. It’s lengthy, but this link should take you to my first post in the thread:

This not the answer you will get from Prevost. But it is 20 years of experience.

Our driveway and entry into the bus garage mandates a specific sequence of over inflating and lowering the air bags on our coaches. The sort version of the needed sequence is I need to raise the front fully with the drive and tag axles at driving height at the bottom of the driveway.

I back up to the garage door, at which point I stop and lower the rear all the awy down. I back 75% of the coach into the garage, at which point I stop and lower the front all the way down. The coach is left that way for however long it takes to unload clothes, laundry and food.

Then I raise the coach to its maximum height and put supports under the chassis support points. then I dump all air in the suspension so the coach is at its highest, supported by stands, and only axle and wheel weight is on the tires.

The entire procedure is reversed when I pull out of the garage and proceed down the driveway.

I have never had an air bag fail prematurely or suffer any known damage to anything as a result of my use of the suspension to get the bus in or out of the garage.

    Al:

You definitely know what your talking about, I have been down every road you have mentioned with no results.

Tires (steer & tags) were all spun up on the coach and on a tire balancing machine (with rim only) and the rims are true, but that is how we found the old passengers tag tire was out of round.

Bus has been aligned (front & back) and rechecked about 6 months later (still in alignment)

Prevost Winter Garden did replace a u-joint about a year ago and checked the rest.

Tire buster did rotate the tire that took 18oz 180 degrees. It reduced the weight to 16oz from 18oz. That tire has been replaced but replacement tire is at 12oz

I purchased the bus about 2 years ago. It ran smooth until I ran over a bridge joint or a ruff spot in the road. The bus would shake for a couple of moments then smooth out again. This was the staring point of the investigation/problems.

Centramatics were install and things got worse. The tire shop broke the tires down and found the glass beads inside that were fighting with the centramatics. Beads were removed and centramatics reinstalled. Ride improved a lot but still had some vibration. Truing nuts/top hat nuts were installed , ride improved some more but still not right around 58-64MPR. This was when the out of round passengers tag was found and shaved down. With all the above the bus was now running pretty smooth.

The tires were aging out and that’s why I had them replaced. I did watch the tire busters mount and balance the new tires. All were mounted horizontally and balanced with less than 7oz (except the drivers tag 12oz). The centering nuts were also reinstalled. But now the ride is worse than ever. Very frustrated to say the least, lots of time and money and things are worse than better.

It’s to bad that it came to this again, If people would of listened, wear mask, social distance, no big gatherings, and no super spreader rallies, and listen to the science not the BS, We would be a lot better off, Some times we have to Sacrifice things in life to make life better, A lot of people will not, and now We All Pay The Price.

I know that Donnie Meyers in Sanford, FL really knows Featherlites. I don’t have personal experience, but he seems to be a good guy from what I’ve been able to gather.
