Started the bus and tried the fast idle switch. It didn’t increase. Jumped the contacts on what I think is the fast idle switch. Still didn’t increase rpm. I am ready for help Clifford.

I waited awhile to reply. First this is your first conversion. If you swap it is allot of of work and $$$. you will probably drop fuel milage as much as 15%(1 mpg) . So is time to do math. Might just be time to build and enjoy! Look foward to in future going to a four stroke with a 50% increase in fuel milage and a automatic in the future. I’m looking foward to at least 7mpg (hope for better) comapred to my old 5mpg with the 2 stroke automatic. New set up. 60 series 10sp eaton autoshift 4:56 rear gears. Bob

Jim’s point is understood. At present, we have the ability to move a thread to a more appropriate topic, but we can’t move a post that gets off track. One day we will have that capability and then can just move a post and start a new topic.

Hey, it’s hard enough keeping Jon on the right page!

    Tom,

thanks for explaining the purpose of the two air inlets. Makes sense. I still have to figure out why the mini air bags don’t inflate with 80psi aux air, just when the compressor on the engine runs. I’m pretty sure they’d use the same line from the aux tank supply.

Maybe a check valve or the regulator is sticking and I need to air up the aux tank to 120psi to free it. Ihave all new belts on the engine and don’t want to start it without having some tension on them.

That emergency fitting should fill the aux tank. You will also
have one in the port side rear engine door and that fitting will
put air to all tanks, brakes and aux. The one up front will only fill
    the aux tank.

The norgren filter has a small filter element inside, you should
be able to push up on the case and turn counter clockwise and the
canister will come off. You can get the filter at Grainger or
McMaster Car. I just did mine and had to replace it due to the metal
    deteriorating.

The Coach Final Record says the shell was completed July 89. The injector is Detroit Diesel DDEC.

I think I found the switch in the spare tire compartment which is now occupied by two air conditioning units. Will know more tomorrow. Had to get a 1.5″ wrench to get the bumper off.

Don’t get all charged up by just “beverages” from Truk4u.

Hector, if I supply the bus for “Leak Finder 101” here’s the menul,

    Ice cold premium beer

    Appetizers

    Bone in rib-eye steak

    Caesar salad

warm apple pie with a scoop of french vanilla ice cream

Rocking chair will be available for your short nap

Oh, almost forgot, your bus gets washed while dining.

“wicked good I’deha” rally in Maine !

we don’t have to freeze the lobsta cuz we live here( in the summer). Would be interested in helping with a rally. Did one a few years ago and took about 20 Prevost coach friends on a couple of windjamers to cow island for a downeast lobsta bake. Bayley’s rv resort in Saco, Maine can take our rigs without a problem.. good folks too. (they also own their own lobsta boats).

In my opinion contact cement is the proper adhesive and probably what was used originally.

Contact cement is soluable in lacquer thinner.

Super glue is not soluable in anything I know of that is consumer friendly. If the handle should come off again it would be a can of worms to attach over the super glue due to the rough surface left behind.

It might be possible to gradually and carefully lift the old handle backing plate by prying with a STIFF putty knife/gasket scraper that is wider than the backing plate. The putty knife should have a wide fulcrum support to distribute the force against the glass door (concentrated or point force will surely break the glass) A possible fulcrum would be a piece of 1/4″ dowell rod on top of a 6″x6″ piece of 1/4″ ply wood. (fasten the wood and dowel to the door with masking tape to keep it aligned and in place)

All this would be easier to accomplish if you took the door off its hinge and worked on a table. There are many screws to take off the hinge, but if you break the mirror door surface you will be takig it off anyway.

Further if you have the door in a horizontal plane you can make a dam of sorts around the handle and flood the area with lacquer thinner for several days to loosen the handle. Possibly prying a little at a time during the soaking process.

If it were me I would first try to pry as with the first method above, you might just get lucky and it will come right off.

Mine fell off leaving one leg on the door and the other leg on the handle. I just used the super glue on the two legs and stuck it back on.

I think they are all bonded to glass so I have no idea how to get them off without something like careful use of a die grinder or some solvent that softens super glue.

Mark, the brake lights are on when I turn the ignition switch on.

Jon, not sure I follow your questions, the ABS light is Not on, just the dash Brake light and now, thanks to Mark, I find that the external brake lights are also on.
