Ok thanks, Jon. I’ll need to get another tub ready to catch whatever drains. I’m starting down the long road of hose replacement! It’s incredible how many hoses there are on a SS 60!

If history is any indication all we have to do is look at how criminals, terrorists, and other less considerate people have shaped how we now live.

We have everything from double sealed Tylenol and other drug bottles to personal body searches at airports to inspections just to enter a government building.

Of course little is being done to prevent texting while driving, requiring masks until we are past the pandemic, or ending driving under the influence, all of which I suspect are responsible for far more deaths and injuries.

Did Charlie Daniels have two Liberty Coaches?

Found this picture on a Prevost Facebook page.

In a cruel irony the WHO has just reported the Covid-19 virus may in fact be coming from toilet paper. On a positive note, diarrhea is not a symptom of covid-19..

Jon is a great guy, has provided us all with outstanding advice and counsel … but sure can go off the page sometimes or maybe I’m lazier than him!

We too have the 45’ Liberty with double vanities flanking the shower. I’ve had water leaks twice … both times dripping through holes in the ceiling of the water bay and also getting the carpet in the bedroom wet. Both times I feared a problem with the shower trap or the tile around the trap. My worst possible fear.

Leak #1: Turned out the plumbing fittings under the aft lav sink were loose. After removing the back panel under the sink I crawled into the cabinet to try to look under the shower where I suspected the trap was leaking. Fortunately I had the water pump on while contorting myself in a position God never intended a human to get into … I felt water dripping on my forehead.

I hand tightened the Flair-It fittings Liberty used on the PEX. Be careful NOT to over tighten the Flair-It’s or they’ll crack.

Leak #2: Same symptoms, this time more pronounced. Water under Coach, icicles from holes in water bay floor to the concrete, water on the floor of the water bay, water dripping off pipes in the water bay, carpet in bedroom wet.

Removed panel in aft under-lav cabinet, dry. Removed back panel in forward cabinet. Water on pipes. Turn pump on. Noticed a very, very tiny mist of water coming from the Flair-It “tee” that supples water to the ice maker. Couldn’t see the crack until I look it apart. We don’t use ice maker so I went to the local ACE, found that Flair-It fitting with small branch for the ice maker valve and compression fitting to copper line to the ice maker and the small brass plug to close it off.

I hand tightened the Flair-It fittings in the cabinet, it’s been good so far.

I’d rather eat bees after an appetizer of razor blades than to face the project of tearing into the original tile shower.

We had our Series 60 pulled and top end done. The jake was not working but American Fleet fixed that while doing the top end. I would definitely take ours back to them. It was a drive from Florida but they did the job in just over a day and did a good job. They did forget to run the motor long enough to burp the air out of the radiator and lines. I got a low coolant light the next morning upon start up.

Let me see if I fully understand where this is heading…………..

First we get engines that are forced to breathe their own exhaust, using EGR, something that also causes the loss of fuel efficiency.

Then the engines or their exhaust system have the pleasure of ingesting panther piss, otherwise known as DEF.

To be sure the exhaust leaving the coach is clean there is a particulate filter that removes anything left in the exhaust, but which can be choked under certain conditions.

Let’s not ignore that as the coaches are saddled with these wonderful systems and devices, the coach engine controls are designed to disable the coach if any of these complex devices malfunct ( a technical term ).

I think I understand it. We are going to keep the air we breathe clean by continuing to add systems and complexity until the coaches will just not run, eliminating the need for further emissions controls.

In anticipation of comments about us going to battery powered buses, try to imagine that the power plants producing the electric to charge the batteries are going to be subject to a similar range of emissions controls so at some point, not only will they shut down, but we can also expect farting cows will also be subject to similar government mandated emission controls

    David,

Check your plumbing, you may not have a check valve or cut-off between the water pump and your toilet, not a good thing.

Great! If we don’t get down your way by then, perhaps you wouldn’t mind a brief visit as you pass through on i-80 around Auburn? Text or call 530-228-6318 with contact info. This would be awesome.

Yes, same screw holes, however you still need to strip wires and use crimp terminals / butt connectors. Relatively simple job.
