One of the truly unexpected joys of owning a Prevost coach was discovering “well nuts”. Never knew they existed. Wonderful little pieces of ingenious hardware.

Have you also discovered thread cutting screws that Prevost (or maybe the converter) might have used also to attach the clearance lights to the stainless steel sides?

Are these marker lights plug and play, same screw holes, easy wiring? Or do they require an electrical degree?

Yes, same screw holes, however you still need to strip wires and use crimp terminals / butt connectors. Relatively simple job.

Use stainless steel thread cutting screws when you put on new clearance lights. Probably only a available from Fastenal as a special order. That’s where I got mine.

I got my LED clearance lights and new lenses from Chromeman Bill … Prevost owner, PC advertiser, and owner of the I-80 Chrome Shop.

Traditional application for a well nut is for water resistance, in this application they seem to have missed the mark. You have 3 holes under the light 2 have well nuts and the center hole which is twice the size has a low quality foam gasket. Foam gasket is going leak, it’s like they ignored the center hole. Transitioned over to a nylon split nut set in butyl tape.
