136,000 on the engine. Techs who took the first look said it’s ‘new’.
Jon:
I disconnected the house batteries and turned the inverters off until we get back to Pittsburgh … tomorrow. They moved it into the shop when we were in Canada. I didn’t want them screwing with the Marathon drop down sewer/shore power door. I can only plug into 110 in their shop.
Les:
I had the same thought about hoses. Gonna pass on the shiny stuff. I’ll wait until they find the problem first. Their ‘estimate’ goes from a cylinder kit to replacing the engine. Have to wait and see.

Tom, I’m with Mark great views and weather, starting to hit the 100 mark here in Arlington. Looks like you working your way toward Coburg, have fun.

That does look like a compression fitting and the hex shape on the nut around the tube suggests it is intended to be turned.
Try it. The worst that happens is you break it and have to replace it with something similar in a brass DOT fitting.

The net of this, from my view, is that you have an idea of your future expenses.
They cannot be avoided but can be mitigated to some extent. The warranties that are “extended” from my view, represent a reasonable value depending on the mileages driven and the time purchased …. but I like the feeling of simply knowing if the air conditioning / transmission / electronics / engine issues are serious, I am comfortable with solution which gives me the peace of mind.
On our Jaquar, the extra $3800 covered over $12,000 and on the Corvette, the $3300 covered some $5500 …. each being on the additional 100,000 mile extended warranty ….but I may be different in that I drive my cars a lot and over extended miles.
In Texas, we do not talk in miles but in time it takes….
Best to all,
Pres

I have a CC question. Les, I’ve seen your coach at Liberty with the front door open when I was parked next to it (beautiful coach by the way).
I noticed that most all CC’s have a big screen facing the passenger built into the dash. What is the screen for?

Like Mark3101, we have renewed with Safeco Insurance.
Our deductible went from $5,000 with National Interstate to $2,000 with Safeco (Safeco’s max deductible) with diminishing deductible. Zero deductible glass coverage and repair (all glass).
Safeco automatically changed the personal value to $1,000 from the $10,000 with National Interstate. I changed it back to $10,000 at a cost of $121.00 a year. (my rose petal dispenser is not cheap).
We renewed with ACV if there was a total loss.

We traveled to Alaska in 2002 and brought a 12 ga shotgun as protection. Go online as there was a form that I filled out before getting to the border, the form and $500 got me a temporary permit while visiting. Handguns were a definite NO NO at that time, so I would not even think of trying a handgun now.
The second amendment is a crucial right for the citizens of this great country of ours, to remain free from tyranny.

I also bought the pressure pro from Tom and love it, I don’t like the temperature readings in the 40 degree increments and plan to get the newer sensors. Like Jon said the display does go out after about 30 seconds and yes you do have to look and push the button to wake it up, but I was told that a downloadable patch will allow you to have the display stay on all the time. But as it comes if the display is dark you don’t have any problems so no need to look at it.

Fred, you mean that isn’t how you guys figure fuel mileage. I didn’t know that. I never check the coach. I just use my majic fuel card and go on down the road. I always thought Jon took care of that. You know part of my dues.
