Does anyone know if the flapper gasket on the Microphor LF220 can be replaced without removing the whole toilet?

My coach and my previous coach hated being on cruise control around 55-60 MPH. It would constantly shift up and down out of 5th-6th (4th-5th on the ’88) and I just manually shifted into the lower gear and this would eliminate the problem. Once I could speed back up again above 60 or so I could put it back into Drive and once again enjoy the ride.

    Hi

well today on last leg to Florida 440 miles.first 75 miles ran great then it started again for about 50 miles on and off.i pulled over for bathroom break left engine running .took off again no problem for rest of trip CRAZY i think that happened before also.seems to me it is trans problem ,but maybe it is trying to down shift when it should not. When running right it shifts up and down nicely

THANKS FOR ADVICE I WILL TRY TRANS CODE AND SEE WHAT IT SAYS.

    Hello, see below:

I am a first time buyer of a Prevost. Have one in mind that is slightly used and not built by the major 5 converters.

-Who Converted the Bus? What year, Engine etc.

Wondering how most people buy used Prevosts out there?

-If you are looking at an older one you will need to pay cash as Banks won’t finance them.

Is it common to test the prevost for a few thousand miles and have the ability to return it in case something doesn’t work out?

-No, never. The process is Just like buying any other automobile.

Do most use an escrow service for these things to transfer ownership?

-My Bus was for sale thru Pop’s RV which is now Popsells. The process was just like buying a house, they handled the entire transaction.

Just trying to figure out how to buy one without getting screwed and realizing after I buy it that there’s something wrong with it that I couldn’t find during the inspection process.

-There is always something that will pop up even after the sale. Bus owners need to be tough minded and either have a lot of money or a lot of tools and the courage to jump in and learn. The second was my approach.

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Hey Bill,

I have a 92 chassis with the 8V92TA and I love it. I think the major difference between the 8V92 and Series 60 is fuel economy, you will get better mile per gallon with the 60. But if you love the raw sound of a two stroke engine you can’t beat the 8V92! Two strokes are still very good engines and to me its simple maintenance. But whatever Prevost coach you decide you will definitely fall in love with it, can’t beat the ride quality because your riding on a commercial chassis!

I’ve owned a 1990 Marathon and a 2000 Liberty; they were/are both excellent coaches. I don’t think you could go wrong with either. If I were in the market for another coach, I would also considerRoyale; they have a reputation for somewhat simpler systems.

I’ve only owned riveted coaches for the reason in the above post and I prefer the driver’s window setup. If I ever need another coach, I wouldn’t hesitate to acquire any of the above brands. It would be a decision based on floor plan and condition rather than converter

Imagine sitting in 100+ degree temps and the cruisairs sucking up the even hotter air from the asphalt or concrete below the coach. Compare that to the open air above the coach. It’s sort of a no-brainer. We also had one of the roof airs fail in Vegas in August of last year. Called the local mobile repair guy, he got us a new one, removed the old one and installed it for about $3000 out the door. Good for another 10-20 years!

I understand why a cruisair would work well in a boat as you are drawing in nice cool water all the time. Just don’t think they were ever a good idea in a MH. They are quiet, I give you that, but what a pain and what an expense.

I drain my air system down every spring and change the air dryer cartridge at that time also. To me it’s cheap insurance to change it out when I’m under there at my house, as it’s not accessible on the road.

At that time I also check the fittings and lines to tanks and Norgrens.

I found 4 leaking drain valves on my tanks as well as the line to the Aux tank. So I replaced all the drain valves and fixed the leaking fittings elsewhere.

Can’t be too important since none of my 3 Prevost’s had differential temp gauges. There is somewhat more airflow on a truck, but the truck runs more miles per day than most coaches do, and many more per year with a higher load all the time in our case. We were close to 80,000 about 85-90% of the time. All the engines were 435 or 450hp.

You can run what you want, but it is not what I will do, and not really necessary. If it was, everyone would be using it (synthetic), and everyone would have a temp gauge. Another good question, how many even look at the gauges they have or do a thorough pre-trip or post trip inspection? I bet not too many from some of the questions I have seen over the years.

My King Aire has 605 hp at 1950 lb-ft and I run pretty much 70+ every trip. I don’t pull a trailer and never will, but I do pull the Jeep Wrangler almost 100% of the time. My King Aire weighs a bit over 52000# so not much difference from my Prevost’s.
