Jim,
Thanks so Much for the detailed descriptions. I started the Bus today turned the AC on and opened the door 3rd bay back on the Passenger side and The fans were running. I sit in the Bus for a couple of Hours , And the AC never failed. It will wait until I am in Traffic in 90 Degree weather most likely. But I noticed the inside of that bay is rather Dusty and Dirty. Time for Some Spring Cleaning. I need to get a Brush and wash out the fins on the condenser radiator I guess You would call it. I removed the cover of the Box inside of that Bay. And found (2) 4 post relays . Like the old Ford type.
Are these the ones that You are talking about that are Problematic with Age ? I had to change one like that to get My interior lights fixed. And in the process , I found out that there are a few different kinds that look the same.
If You can find the information on them , It would be Greatly Apreciated !
Sincerely,
Rocky

This information Tom has provided applies to any coach that has the ZipDee powered awnings with the arms. If your converter has not placed the awning tank in a place convenient for draining as Tom has done, try to make provisions for draining via a lanyard or some means of simplifying access.

I’d like to add that if you haven’t had the opportuity to look at Prevost webinars take the time to do it. Some are helpful to not only those who will do some of their own work, but they also provide an owner with terrific insight to how involved certains tasks are, or how our systems work.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as being able to use our coaches knowing our understanding of the coach is such that we are able to cope with almost anything that might happen. Not that we will be repairing our coaches by the side of the road, but that we can manage any issue that might occur.
Robert Hitt does a great job of making the complicated very easily understood.

I just converted all the 18″ flourescent tubes in my bus to LED. If anyone attending the rally is interested in 20 used but working F15T8 bulbs for free, I would bring them with me. Hate to just throw them out.

Fred how is this done?

same construction techniques. I just copy. Roof vent gets stink up and lets wind carry off of course we could go into the technoscience reason but that works for me..All the guys here can give guidance on systems. I’m just a little less $$ challanged than most therefore have to find a way to compromise…besides I love to build things!! That is really the biggest reason. Poop flows down hill and vent your tanks up. Keep your S-traps full. If you use a 4 inch hose to dump your holding tank fast it can suck the water out of the S-traps. 1 tank vs 2. If you are a boon docker 2 is a plus so you can dump gray water on ground(if allowed). If not some opt for just one tank. The store bought coaches have 2 a black and gray water tank. I use 2 for clean out purposes; run black thru discharge first then gray to clean out line. The valves Jon speaks of are avail at most Lowes/home depot type stores. Just a check valve that fits after S-trap to down sewer line to let air in system without draining your water from S-trap.
I’ll work on spell ck and better answers. Jon and the guys have rebuilt about every system on these coaches.

No Ipad here.
In our house the job’s not done til the paperwork is finished. Unlike you technically advanced types, we do not live in a paperless world (so to speak).
See what you started, Buddy? Do you CC guys bring your ipad dashboards with you when you ……? You know what I mean. I guess as long as it is fused it is OK with Gil.
I didn’t start this.

Look at the bright side.
You could own a propeller aircraft with an engine close to TBO. That bill is somewhere around $45K (IO520) or close to 30% of the value of the plane. And once you get the new engine, you enjoy double or triple infant mortality rates for the first 200 hours. Avgas is $6/gal and you burn 17 gal/hour on your way to the $200 hamburger. And that GPS upgrade that costs you $200, costs about $20,000 installed thanks to FAA certification (Garmin GTN750). And you still can’t sleep in it (the plane).
So owning an XLII is not that bad after all. Also, getting 5.5 miles/gal you must be going 75-80mph or tow the QE2. Slow down to 60 mph and you’ll see better than 7mpg. Cuts a quarter off your fuel bill.
Anyway, looking at the expense as a percent of book value might ease the sting. If the fix is permanent, you’d easily add that much or more to the resale value of the coach.
