Our former Beaver bus had three Heart inverters. Two were inverter chargers , the third inverted only and ran the frig (Amana) and microwave. And with OTR operational, there was a relay that cut off frig’s compressor. Six house batteries, powered house and genny start

How many alternators do you have on the Detroit? what is their voltage?

Your 2 house battery banks must be 24v? batteries hooked up in parallel and series like the 4 chassis batteries, thus the need for all those Vanners, to provide 12vdc to the various house items? I can’t think of any reason for the house dc system to be 24vdc, unless you only have one 24v alternator? thus having to charge both chassis and house banks?

If you convert your house system to 12v, all batteries connected in parallel, you won’t need the 5 house Vanners.

Nowadays Victron Energy and others make modern components(converters, chargers, etc) to help convert your system(s)

What all are you trying to accomplish?

Looks to me that when you have enough water in the bowl the two pins make contact and turn on a light somewhere.

Does anyone know if this is harmful to the Vanner since you are hooking up your charger to the 12v post and the 24v post?

Sounds like your old house battery setup was 24v and you had all the Vanners so you could run the 12v stuff.

If your new LFP battery is 12v? the answer is “no”.
If the new LFP battery is 24v? the answer is “yes”.

On my last trip I discovered a leak on the supply hose at the pump. Turned out to be a loose hose clamp as there is no pressure other than gravity.

Hopefully yours will be as simple as tightening the clamp.

I don’t know about that system, But I have DometicAC’s and a 5 button Dometicthermostat. Thermostat gets it’s 12v power from the communication cable (Phone cable) at the back side, and mine goes to #1 AC to circuit board then it daises to #2 then#3. But anyways after years of corrosion you can loose power or communication. Pull the plug out of thermostat a couple of times and at AC and see if that helps. Also AC unit gets 120v to run the AC and it also gets 12v to run it’s controls (thermostat)

Look in the online manual for your coach, use the VIN#. I’d like to think that will enlighten you.

So I called Prevost and the heater temp restate is part #871076 and it is $540 bucks, So I spoke to a guy at a place that sells electric solenoids valves we talked about it and he said it did not sound like a great design to begin with, but that was 20 years ago , The electro magnet is always hot till heat heat is turned on then power is off seems backwards. So I think I will go with Plan B , I ordered a always closed 24DCV brass solenoid valve 3/4 inch it will fit right in the same spot as the always open valve and install a indicator light a switch and a fuse link and should be fine. If I want to go back to stock I can, I’m not going to do anything irreversible. All it does it let hot antifreeze flow.

I had accumulated a pile of dues dollars, but gave them to Carlisle and then had to tip Tim and Andre. Besides, Jon said his safe was full, no more room.

Thanks guys, So the 7 and 8V’s were the de-facto standards of the day, I didn’t know that and I certainly understand the retooling part. I didn’t know that GM owned DD and it strikes me as a little short sighted to dump a known user like Prevost? Not exactly a bad name to attach your engine to me thinks. Sounds like an idea right from the marketing department.

Dick of Wisconsin said: Harry, what are you seeing in those other forums? Guys arguing whose MH engine is better?

Hi Dick, I don’t spend much time there anymore, just go back on occasion to see if any interesting conversations are going on about internet, cell phones, TV satellite suppliers etc.

And George, you’re sure right about checking in on the plastic coach folks to see what troubles are in “Plastic Coach Land”. I’ll stay with my bus and be a very happy man for it. I’m going up to ETLC later this year for a couple things. Last time I called Jeff saying I was coming he asked about my cash balance! When I told him I never heard him laugh so hard, That just seemed so wrong!!!

John in the picture that Eric sent you show 5.5v coming out of pin 2 (two orange wires) and no voltage to the headlights. Wires are labeled 213 and 215. Have you tested the voltage there? Also can you see the back of the switches and see the labels on the wires, then trace back from there?
