If it’s a double slide XLII 45 foot coach it’s Prevost slides.
If it’s a single slide in a 40 foot coach it’s a HWH in that era.
Prevost slides are the way to go.

Unless you aggressively abuse your brakes you are worrying for nothing. Don’t tailgate, relax, drive the posted speed limit or less through the Smokies, set a target speed and stab the brakes as necessary to drop below your target and when you coast back up to the target speed, reapply the brakes.
It is long continuous braking, such as dragging the brakes that can overheat them. And for certain do not pump the brakes.

The slide pin Meritor part# is: KIT15013
These kits normally sell for more than $200 each, but there are 3 new kits on ebay right now for $80 eachThe bushings are not included.

Obviously I was joking, but one thing is evident and that is if a PC member needs help other members go out of their way to provide that help. So we do have 4300 friends.

Now everyone knows why a steam gauge guy like me is a hard sell on the push button technology.
It is going to break and when it does the fit hits the shan.
My heroes are the pilots that started as freight dogs, went to flying Beech 99’s with auto-pilots (that was the co-pilot) and did their flying in the lousiest weather in the country. Ask Tom about western NY weather.
But it was the best place to learn and use those skills.

After boondocking at our in-laws ranch for 3 weeks, we have now returned to the USA by crossing again at Sarnia / Port Huron.
The US Customs & Immigration agent asked
1) How many people inside the RV ( 2 and 1 dog )
2) How long did you stay in Canada and why? (3 weeks for a family visit / graduation party)
3) Do you have alcohol on board? (Yes, plenty, for personal consumption. About 40 cans of IPA beers and 20 or so bottles of wine).

Strangely enough, he did not ask whether we had guns on board …

I’m not sure you have to change them out because your coach will not generate the heat or pressures seen on an EGR coach.
You don’t give any specs on the hoses you have, but if they are the recent ones from Prevost it is likely they are made for up to 500 degrees. I know your boost pressures are not going to be anywhere near those of an EGR coach.

Thanks for the comments everyone, particularly the clarification that this is Marathon-installed, not Prevost. I have put the piece back on with the tape, it seems sturdy now, but I would much prefer these pieces were bolted on. If I knew how to weld, I would have considered welding tabs to that piece to facilitate bolting it on.

I was on it for the first 15 miles from Moab towards I-70 in May. I was in a rental car and recall it was in decent shape. May have even been new pavement.
No experience with the I-70 end.

Synthetic will run cooler and 230 is fine for synthetic; probably ok for regular. I’m happy to keep mine down at 250-260 but I approach 70,000# gross. I run synthetic and change at about 25000 but that’s unnecessary unless you do heavy towing and high speeds. You’ll find the temps go up at higher speeds.

On our 2015 tahoe, reason for disconnecting battery cable was after you neutraled the transfer case and with steering unlocked was so that steering would stat unlocked. there was a discussion some time back under towing, and what we do is pull fuse for steering lock/unlock fuse # 38 as I rember on our tahoe,this fuse # should be shown in your owners manual, then steering stays unlocked and you don’t have to disconnect battery cable. solved a big PIA
