    Tom:

I did think about wireless but was not sure how well it would transmit through the metal of the coach from the bedroom to the bay. Do you have any personal knowledge of how well it would work.
Also, do you have any suggestions for one brand name over another?

Bendix dryer does not have the built in governor. The governor is located at the compressor and is adjusted as Mike described.

    Depends on the dryer Mike.

If the coach has the Haldex dryer the governor is built into the dryer and the adjustment is under a rubber cap. Back off the pressure goes down, turn clockwise the pressure goes up.

But other dryers have the governor at the compressor.

Another way I look at this is the cost of a new bus $2 million plus. This keeps the value of used ones rather stable. Aircraft are in a similar situation unless your talking about extremely old aircraft.

While there may be some benefits the problem I have with switching is I cannot come up with an answer to my question of what do I get for my money?

Obviously we get some bragging rights. Not every owner will have electric fans so a coach with them will stand out from the crowd.

We supposedly will get some HP gain, maybe some fuel savings, but if we lose reliability due to the complexity is there a real benefit?

Jim&Chris, you boys are just going to have to turn that bus east and south. Between Jeff, Prevost Nashville, Jacksonville and Orlando,CoachUSA(Parliament),Donny Meyer and Tradewinds you’ll never have these problems. Plus, comming up….the weather is great. Geo.

It appears that towing it, as far as getting the transfer case into neutral etc. is a lot easier than my Chevy. The owners manual doesn’t show it but all it takes is turning the key on putting the shift lever in neutral and cycle the 4hi-4lo 5 times and she goes into flat tow neutral and I don’t have to disconnect the negative battery cable like my ‘16 Chevy. I have an M&G brake set up on the Chevy and it’s flawless, but they don’t have one for an F350 powerstroke. So I need now to see if it’s worth the brain damage and stress of prepping another vehicle with a different brake system when what I have now really gets the job done. Thanks for all the info.

I would think EGR cooler before anything else…we know EGR has been an issue from the trucking industry and that is where the problems usually start…first thing I would do is pull and oil sample…cheap and easy!

    Jack,

Did you get a chance to shoot the temps of your wheels and hubs?

Apart from something in the sensor sending the wrong information, a hanging brake or dry bearing could be heating up that wheel, although I think the outer drive tire and wheel would see the added heat as well.

    Mark,

We will be sure to next time we see you there. We had a 667 mi run to get home. So we were anxious to get on the road.

I’m sure glad we did , we hit some really hard rain and encountered 5+ accidents on the way.

Did you see any sights in Nashville?

    Thanks again

    Chris

It’s scarey how easy it is to pull out that 100+ gal fresh water tank. 5 screws and 2 hose clamps. When I put it back together I’m gonna add some metal straps over it and blocks of wood at its base to hold it in place better.

The coach was built for dry camping. Remember(see signature) it is a 40 footer with OTR air so it lacks basement space. The original owner wanted extra large tanks.

The other tanks are in the 4th bays.

I see the current advertiser is still claiming it is on a Prevost chassis. What chassis were Lexa’s based on? Freightliner, Spartan, A N Other? So much for the line in the ad that states the previous owner is “one of the most experienced RV dealers around”. Clearly not in Prevost buses! Pop-ups maybe. Pity the poor soul who falls for it though, especially if they are spending their life savings. Even worse than the guy who spent his savings on a brand new King Aire a while back that spewed 50 galls water everywhere when it was only three days old. Talking of which, if I had new King Aire money, would I buy one? Nope, I’d just get an equivalent value used Prevost. Or a slightly less expensive one and have some money in the pot for maintenance etc.
