Whoa! just learned from a phone call to Transwest RV where we were thinking about having our new bus forservice, ei. front end work, they have a 10 year cut off. So convenient would their shop for us being a 30 minute drive. They wouldnt consider working on any aspect of our 2000 Prevost Featherlite 45 chassis

Kaiser Alignment Shop in Eugene Oregon last thrusday let us down too. After we bought 8 new tires last wednesday, from wyatt Tire, we had an appt for a three axle alignment next day. The first two hours of of our 8 am appt arrival time was squandered by sitting with no work on the bus. Then at 10:20 am they pulled bus in, and said they wanted to chekc for air leaks. I expressed we had identified an air leak, but to proceed. They found a brass fitting cracked. Had that replaced but by then after finding a fautly ride hieght valve up front they told us it was too late at 1 pm to do even a front end alignment, let alone 3. To come back on another appt which wouold have been September 30th The bus was parked on the street. No one came to ask what was the air leak we heard. The service writer once confronted, said she didnt’ hear it when she pulled the bus in but didnt bother to come and ask us. Another service writer brought the bus to the street, so he was clueless. Everyone said how great Kaiser Alignment is in eugene Oregon. NOT happy.

Do a Google search for Md alignment. They have a dealer locator online. I swear by there system.

Thanks for info. However the closest MD alignment center is Je Co who is the outfit that did $4000 damage to our most recent coach performing an emissions test.

TransWest never seems to want to help anyone, me included while trying to collect advertising dollars, so I would chalk them up as a place not to go. They are no longer an advertiser with PC and should be avoided.

Jim&Chris, you boys are just going to have to turn that bus east and south. Between Jeff, Prevost Nashville, Jacksonville and Orlando,CoachUSA(Parliament),Donny Meyer and Tradewinds you’ll never have these problems. Plus, comming up….the weather is great. Geo.

I doubt it’s only CO, but when we were in CO Transwest told us the same thing. They would not send a mobile vehicle to replace our air bag and they would not replace our air bag on-site because we were over 10 years old. So stupid, but I suspect they have plenty of business without our “antiques”.

Well, not to leave no stone unturned, I stirred the pot some. You see, Transwest has a 2006 XLII Country Coach for sale. An ‘06! So I called sales dept, Brad Nerhus. I ask if we or another Colorado resident specifically buy this coach where would we, they get it serviced

Brads response was, here at Transwest. I followed up by saying, service dept said they would not work on anything older than 2009.

Needless to say this raised eyebrows, and Brad would get back to me.

He said they wanted Prevost repair business. So I gave it about two hours, and called service back. The gentleman answering the phone, once again said, no they wouldn’t work on our Vogue XL45. I retorted that he needed to speak to GM or Brad in sales.

Well, Brian in service called me back explaining with numerous plastic coach builders gone, they wouldn’t work on them because of scarce or non-existent parts. I said I understood that, but we had a Prevost, regardless of subtitle like “Featherlite, it’s a Prevost. He then clarified this blanket rejection of older motor homes has been clarified to exclude busses. So, we have an appt on 9-10 for front end inspection.

With customer service like that I can only imagine how lousy their repair work is. And the support you get if something they did has to be fixed.

True Jon. We can cancel at Transwest. My premise was to “call them” on their exclusion policy.

I will reiterate….If I have a problem and am mobile…I will go to Jeff. The extra miles(fuel)is cheap compared to lousy service, things not done right and getting ripped off. Geo.

I agree with Geo here, imagine when the workers start talking to one another about the guy who complained . Also if they don’t work on them how could they know how to fix them . I’m sure you don’t want to pay for there education .

I would plan a trip around using a known reputable facility . As the guys have already said Tn is beautyfull this time of year or catch a game at Jerrys world in Dallas . Good Luck

As my mother used to say, no matter how you slice it there is two sides to every story.

I assume you made your post prior to our Service Advisor calling you and scheduling an appointment to bring your Bus in.

We do have the 10 year policy you wrote about, but I also told you we are open to helping Prevost Owners who have older coaches on a case by case basis. After our conversation, that is exactly what happened and we will endeavor to get you back on the road when you arrive for your scheduled appointment.

We have a 25year relationship with Outlaw and are proud to represent them both as a Dealer for Outlaw LQ Conversions and Emerald Luxury Coach Prevost Conversions. We also service everything we sell.

Yes Emerald Brad, you did explain to me you were going to make the correction about Coach age and working on them with your GM and Service Mgr. I stated above that Brian in Service called me to reaffirm Transwest service dept will work on our coach. I wrote above, after Brian in Service called me, that I have an appt for front end inspection on 9/10/19. Thank you very much for clarification and your assistance in straightening out the modified policy. And yes, I started this thread before I spoke to you. I was frustrated and fretting we were going to have to drive 100’s of miles for repairs. Thank you Brad again for your assistance

Despite their offer to work on that one Prevost, they still absolutely refused to even discuss working on mine and I was completely disabled. All it needed was to have the new air bag (which I had) installed. Age of the coach has nothing at all to do with this kind or repair but there was no getting beyond the 10 year limit.

I do hope this means that TransWest is going to walk back that policy in the future but their claim that they would always work on a Prevost is false.
