That’s what I’ll try again Jerry. I used the rubber pipe insulation for A/C lines, but the sticky didn’t hold, so I’ll try a different approach.

The bus is smoooooth, but what causes the mirror to shake is the cheap plastic motor that the glass is attached to as Al pointed out. The shake is caused by wind turbulence, not the mirror itself shaking. At least my chrome is good.

I am currently involved with a lil bit of a saga with Ramco.

Needed new glass and a base mount, they had the base, but arms and mirror heads werre back ordered several weeks, was told (I think) due to waiting on chorme plating…hmm.

Anyways, glass and mount show up but no mounting bolts as I requested, and the convex glass was wrong. Bolts sent with new convex glass that was also wrong, to be fair they overnighted correct convex glass and sent call tag to send wrong ones back.

Get it all mounted up and the mount is wrong, the bolt hole for arm is in a slightly different location than my original and now I have a gap between the body mount and arm.

I sent a lot of photos to Ramco and they are looking into it but do not think they have another one…by the way the one I recieved had a pressed in stop pin inserted, my original did not, I pulled it out as they said it would not be an issue.

At this point I am about to give up and let Parliament sort it out when I am there for some other work…maybe send the bill to Ramco.

The guy I have been dealing with in customer service has been very nice and is helpful but I am either really unlucky or they have some issues going on there.

About 14 years ago I had the displeasure of talking with the then
new owner of Ramco. It seems her father who
started the company had died (or retired) and she was now in charge. I tried to discuss the chrome-peeling
problem with her, but she was adamant about not doing anything for any owner of
mirrors out of warranty, and a second owner had no status. She had a very belligerent attitude and felt the
plating quality only had to be good enough to get the mirrors past the
warranty expiration date. She wasn’t interested in doing anything for any owner
who had a problem beyond that.

Having owned a manufacturing company with a chrome-plating
operation I understand the process and when done properly it doesn’t peel
off. If I remember correctly Ramco at
that time was having the housings made and plated in Asia somewhere.

Being away from the products for so long, I have no idea
who owns or runs the company now or if the company exists today. If it doesn’t, its understandable!

Gary, the iPad upgrade is finished and works well. There is a learning curve when you change from the old remotes, but not too steep. It is light years ahead of the older Crestron remote we had in the bedroom, and seems to be very responsive and never drops the wi-fi signal like the last Crestron one we bought a couple of years ago.

My only real issue is I try to go too fast sometimes, but that is getting better the more I use it.

Karl, in the idea department, we cleaned out some icons that were no longer used, or have never been used. There were somethings that Legendary never implemented that showed up in a couple of places. They must have intended to do it, but never did. When setting up the screen layout on the iPads, we locked it into a portrait orientation so that the screens did not loose the spacing that was designed. I like that idea as it makes holding the iPad easier as well. We have also gotten some additional functionality and cleaned up some pages that were cluttered.

The other things that are great are the new tv’s and the HD dish setup. We have been spoiled by having HD at home and now we have it in the bus. The new Samsung tv’s are really bright and have a sharp picture. We kept the old Tracstar dish operational for a backup or if we want to use it in motion. It requires changing settings in the receivers and switching an a/b switch, but is easy enough.

Getting rid of the older plasma tv’s also saved us some weight and the new tv’s put out a LOT LESS heat and have a lower current demand. A win-win for sure.

It isn’t cheap, but what is on our coaches??

We have several members in that area. If any of them volunteers I can work with them to help them evaluate it in the shortest amount of time with the focus on the big stuff. Even if they do not own a Liberty I can walk them through how to operate the systems.

I sure wouldn’t settle for that. If it says “Paid in Full” don’t cash it. Send it back with a demand for the full amount.

    Larry,

Do some screen shots of those texts and other proof. You can probably get the paperwork to file small claims online. I beleive you can file in your county so that he bears the difficulty of getting to court instead of you. Fill it out, send a copy with those texts and the bills from Allison to Doug and ask for a full refund plus expenses to get it fixed. If he doesn’t answer fast enough, file and let the judge tell him. Sometimes small claims court can be fun.

I recommend as you take cables each stud wire tie them together then take a shop rag and wrap around the cables, wrap with electric tape. As you remove/install new batteries all cables are protected from accidentally shorting out and you can hook up one at a time without fear of touching cables during the process

Thanks, I ordered a few cheapies on eBay to test out. I think my refelctors come out so that will not be a big drama, just hope they can dim, some can some can’t I guess…then need to decide between warm and cool white.

Will report back what I find!

My only concern would be if I called them and asked if they are familiar with Prevost, and they don’t know what one is, or if I asked if they insure bus conversions and they don’t know what I meant by that.

When we had the bus fire everyone in the insurance chain knew exactly what a Prevost was, what a converter was, and that made dealing with the issue so much easier.

I never want to be put in the position of having to explain to someone I do not want my coach towed to the nearest Winnebago dealr.
