After reviewing the great information on this site, I figured out how it works. I knew then I could raise the tag and isolate that air bag and the coach lifted. When I dropped the tag I could then see air bubbles escaping all around the tag air bag on the bottom. Two questions: I noticed on both sides of the coach, my tag air bags do not have a bolt going through the frame on the bottom with a nut to secure it like all the others (picture attached). Is this ok? I plan on just lifting the tag and driving 10 miles to a shop to fix it. I assume a short gentle trip should be ok with the tag raised?
Thanks for the help. -
Thats what the guts of a microphor looks like, it’s behind the wall if you want to try and hook an air line to that.
Good luck with that.

When Dan and Judy go through the painful process of dealing with insurance for repairs I am hoping they will be able to get their coach fully restored.
All of us with older coaches have to be aware that even modest damage repairs are expensive and it does not take long for the total cost of repairs to approach or exceed insurance limits, market value or inhibit the ability to have the best shops do the work.

What Dan hasn’t mentioned here is that his driving skill might just have been the saving grace that saved the driver and passengers in the Prius. He swerved left to avoid T-boning them and ended up with his pax side drives off the shoulder of the oncoming lane. His driving skill kept the bus upright and allowed him to get back on the road and pull off on the right shoulder. The Sheriff was amazed that he was able to keep the Prevost upright and to recover control. After coming to a stop on the shoulder he then jumped out the back pax side window and ran back to see if the Prius occupants were OK. Not only is this a testament to the Prevost but to Dan’s skill as a driver. We all must be constantly aware of the idiots around us and be prepared to do what is necessary to minimize the results of an accident such as this. Oh yeah, The driver of the Prius was U-turning to go back and get the shirt that had blown out her window! Like Dan said “fly the plane”!

A big thank you to Jim and Chris for organizing the event
and to everyone that helped. This was our first Non rally Rally and we had a
fantastic time meeting all those that attended. The eclipse was unbelievable
and something we will make the effort to see again. Our only regret was not staying Monday night as the traffic
going back to Salt Lake on I-15 was gridlock. A 5 hour drive to get there
turned into an 11 hour trip home but we would do it again tomorrow to see an
eclipse. Thanks again to all those involved in putting the event on.
We look forward to seeing everyone again. -
Thanks so much, it looks just like the one I replaced for the Tivoli so I will order three so I have some on hand. Thanks everyone, I just love this old gire but learning all the little tricks to keep her going is impossible with out the help of you all..
Thanks

Mine went out 4-5 years ago. And it ended up being the 4 post relay. There are two of them in that bay. One for the Tivoli and one for the house lights. Do Your tivoli lights still work ?

Good observation about the toilet. I will have to take a closer look at that. There has to be pocket doors to shut it off for privacy. I will have to ask the question.

Look in the engine area. On that vintage coach there are two sheet metal tubes running from the end of the manifolds to a Y going into the turbo.
If one of them has split or broke that is the loss of boost and there is likely a lot of black soot around it.
If it is one of the pipes I described you can get them from a Detroit Dealer. They are not cheap, but the good news is with a wrench you can loosen the clamps, pop the bad one from its place and put in the new one. Be careful because there is an asbestos gasket the clamp draws the tube and manifold tight to seal exhaust and you do not want to damage that.
If it is not a broken pipe, look for black soot around the cast iron manifolds and if you are lucky the problem will be a blown gasket. If not so lucky the casting will be cracked. They are not so simple to replace and if your luck is like mine (bad) removing the nuts holding the manifold will result in one or more of the studs coming loose and in that case you are going to lose coolant.
My last guess is the turbo has locked up and is not providing turbo boost. Check the other stuff first.

Hey Gerald,
There is plenty to worry about on a Prevost if You get to reading enough here. My lists keep getting longer and longer. And of course I would never want to do anything to harm the ole Girl. Is all the new nano technology a farse ? The donaldson blue says it filters out much smaller particles and alllows more flow. With lab results to back it up. Can they see down to a nano level ? Sure they can. If the results are legit ? I do know they use donaldsons in some of the worst dust environments in the world. like coal mines and earth moving jobs. You are right , dust is the enemy. I will do more research before I ever put one in. The cost does not bother Me if it is quality. Lets face it , with a 2500.00 water pump and a 1500.00 water heater and 7K in tires and on and on. 200.00 is change. I am not afraid of new technology. In fact , I embrace it when it has merit.Bsafe,

I appreciate the explanation on the hyd cyls and how the tag lift works, anyway cheeeef should be back on the road. I delivered an air bag to him this afternoon, I’ll let him tell the rest of the story, but involves not putting the nuts on
Cheers

Then Jon, in my humble opinion you need another webmaster! I’ve been in the database and website business almost 20 years and that is an outlandish statement from your “webmaster”!I don’t think you could find a single forum where you’re not notified of a new post to a thread you’ve subscribed! For your webmaster to make such a statement I question their credentials!
If I positioned myself as a Prevost expert and said I didn’t know about OTR what would you think of my expertise? That’s how outrageous his statement is!!! If the webmaster doesn’t know something as basic as this I wonder what else he doesn’t know?
And Jon and Tom, a website is not rocket science… You’ve had them working on this for months!
I’m sorry but this one has really tripped my trigger! Let me know if you want my resignation…

Allan,
Not sure if it was mentioned here on this thread, but Zip Dee made a change to heavier gauge wire for the motor and maybe your’s hasn’t been updated.

Allan,
You have to take the photo with your Iphone/Ipad in the horizontal position, if in the vertical position, the photo will be upside down.
