So this discussion doesn’t get real confusing, can we call the devices a name that defines their function, such as equalizer, monitor, converter, or inverter. Every one of those devices was made at one time by Vanner.

As to a 60 amp equalizer (on the house I assume) it makes me suspect the same thing I posted above about Glen’s coach. Someone needs to verify that because I suspect right now a lot of people following this thread are getting confused.

You notice that they do not mention the weight of the tractor, how much fuel capacity it has of whatever it would run on, or if it would even be able to meet federal regulations for a on highway truck. I did not see mirrors big enough to be useful either. I agree it is a gimmick. How do they heat and cool the interior….electric? I see Dometic was one of the vendors. Allison too. Looks like tree hugger PR at this point.

Hell, a deer would demolish that front end plastic, and how about an accident…I bet the driver would be toast if it hits anything bigger than a moped.

Mikee is correct, and to go even further some early model coaches had Vanner converters or inverters. (I cannot remember which because those coaches were in the 80’s I believe and I think I only ever saw one of them)

Cards came today along with a signed copy of the documents so you do have a record of what limits you set.

Of note is the prices on the app are not the discounted prices. The actual prices are only on the daily email right now. Loves prices are impressive. Pilot/Flying J appeared to be little different from full price. Knowing the fraud that Pilot pulled on the trucking industry has caused me to avoid them as much as possible anyway.

If mine was smoking like that. Here’s what I would do.

    1 run generator to temp.

    2 remove fuel filter.

3 fill new fuel filter with sea foam and install.

4 Re start and run 15 minutes.

    5. Shut off for 30 minutes. (This is called a hot soaking the injectors and injection pump).

6 Re start run with a full load 30 more minutes.

This is the best way to clean the fuel system. Also be forewarned on the last restart there might be alot of smoke. This is a loosened carbon burning off.

Don’t know about yours but Texas Custom Coach down Pipecreek Tx. wired my Motion Winegard Satellite into my overhead drivers courtesy light button on drivers panel, on left hand toggle switch. Found that by accident. Has worked for 9 years that way.

Thanks Liam. Elite is closed now. Will call in the AM. I’m not sure I want to drive any further and really screw up something. I had to drive 3 hours today blowing smoke to get here.

We bought our Blue Ox tow bar in May of 2014 when we bought the coach. We’ve been at the Florida RV Super Show a couple of times since, tried to get the Blue Ox guys to rebuild ours … but they were always overbooked.

Looked on the Blue Ox website and noticed they were located not too far off I-80 in Pender, Nebraska and we were taking I-80 back to Wisconsin from Cheyenne, WY. So I called Blue Ox and talked to them about a rebuild as we drove by. We’d heard they had a really nice RV park adjacent to the factory. Pender said we have a location in Lincoln, why don’t you stop there for the rebuild.

So we made an appointment and stopped in Lincoln. When the tech came out to the coach to look at the tow bar he took one look and said, “I won’t rebuild that tow bar. The welds are rusting and they are likely coming apart. You need a new tow bar.”

I’m not a mil-spec certified welder nor am I a metallurgical engineer. But I’ve been around enough to know that the welds on my well built less than five year old tow bar are NOT going to fail and cause a catastrophic event for us on the road. The rocks, stones, grit, gravel, etc. from the road had sand blasted the tow bar, removing the power coating over time, and there was surface rust on the tow bar and its welds.

But my co-pilot had heard enough. She quickly said, “OMG! It’s a good thing we didn’t lose the car before we got here. Do you have these in stock?” I instantly knew we were going to buy a NEW towbar TODAY!

The tech quoted us a price. I bawked a little, he then offered to give me a trade in on the old tow bar. I then bawked again and said I had to check something out and I’d come inside the shop and let him know. I went in the coach and called BlueOxTowBars.com which is an independent retailer of BlueOx products in Burnsville, MN. I had recently bought a new power cable, some additional pins from them, and a tow bar cover from them. I was able to talk to the owner on the phone quickly and he quoted me a price for a new towbar that was a couple of bucks higher than the BlueOx tech had. So I thanked him and went to the tech’s office. Before I could say anything he asked if would take a “factory second” … never sold, never installed, but probably had a flaw in the power coating, had been pulled during quality control, and the price was lower yet. I agreed to that.

The tech took the box with the new tow bar to the coach, unpacked it, but wouldn’t “install it” (liability), so I did that. He did explain to me the new design and some advantages over the old style. He took my old towbar with him and we walked to back of the building where the credit card machine was located. As he was generating an invoice I asked if our “old” cover (which I had bought about four or five months ago) would fit on the new towbar and he said “No”, then walked over to a bin, pulled a new cover package out of the bin, and handed it to me. No charge.

So … we left Lincoln and headed for a Council Bluffs, Iowa casino to meet with Judy and Dan Hilger. I’m sure the co-pilot slept more soundly knowing the tow bar wasn’t going to come apart and end up in the oncoming lane of traffic. I sleep just as soundly with the new tow bar as I did with the original one.

HUH! I never thought of using one of the many Harbor Freight dollies I have in the shop to put the refrigerator on! I make a special raised platform.

Do you recall what the ceramic coating cost to put on? Where did you have it done or was it a DIY project?

I think the red and blue hoses in the engine compartment would be cool looking.

You’re right, Roy, the gauges are able to be totally manipulated…the number of parameters and settings takes a little patience to learn, but it’s worth it, I think.

Still playing around with my layout, but this is replacing a pretty comprehensive VMSpc layout that I’ve had for a good number of years. Here’s a pic of my current layout. Again, this layout is not for everyone…my analog dash gauges are a little wonky when compared to DDEC/VMSpc or BlueFire data, so I pretty much ignore the dash (with the exception of the air gauges) and make the pad part of my normal scan.

The major hang-up for me that I see to date is that there is only one resettable trip odometer. VMSpc allows as many as you wish, and I had several running simultaneously – season, trip, leg, and since last service. As I said, I’m still playing around with it, so maybe There is a work-around that I’m not seeing right now.

    Overall, it’s a keeper I think…
