Cruise Air Filter Change, etc
It was time to clean the 3 CruiseAirs evaporator filters again. The front and rear units are easy to get at, but the refrigerator has to be slid out of the wall to get to our mid unit. Our old filters were looking wornout, so I decided to replace them with “cut to fit” high efficiency filter from HomeDepot. It uses activated charcoal to control odors. It has a MERV 8 rating. You can make two filters from one of these.
A freight dolly from Harbor Freight was the perfect height to slide the refrigerator out of the wall onto 🙂
I also washed the condensors with plenty of fresh water.
I drag race. We always arrive at the track(full sun black top pit areas) with a cool bus, by cooling it down on the way with the Prevost OTR ac. Then we can keep it cool by running just 2 Cruise Airs.
*note* I coated our roof 2 yrs ago with a ceramic coating called “Temp-Coat 101” that has made a big difference. I put my gauges on the CruiseAirs and add R22 anytime they indicate the need. -

HUH! I never thought of using one of the many Harbor Freight dollies I have in the shop to put the refrigerator on! I make a special raised platform.
Do you recall what the ceramic coating cost to put on? Where did you have it done or was it a DIY project?

I did it myself. Cost me $500
Xtreme Paint and Graphics link was using this product in early 2017, that’s how I heard about it.
No more “snap, crackle, pop” when the sun comes and goes on the roof of the bus.

Thanks, Mine is beside the refrigerator also. They turned the coil 180 degrees. I have a panel in the pantry to access the coils. I did just pull the refrigerator last week For a compressor replacement.
