Dean,
Take Peter up on his offer, great ranch and you can’t do better than visiting Peter and Trina. Here’s what the parking spot looks like.. Peter was trying to get his friend to hook Bert or Ernie, I get them mixed up, to the bus and pull it. I think maybe that big boy could have done it!

Elk Meadows has spots that fit busses. Haven’t been there personally, but have been told.

Biggest problem for most conversions is lack of continious excerise.. That.s why you see suggestion 1 yr or XXX X numver of miles…. it’s not usually not the miles that come first but the hot cold cycles and humidity exposure time to the oil..Like your AIr filter element actually has a coating on it that will have a expration date like a gallon of milk(not that quick) It’s printed on them..The deal s on E-bay beware! might not be deals at all. I know you have all been aware of battery dates here so there is another… Just like you antifreeze has a life span and the filter for that system is specfic with chemical load to engine/antifreeze installed…For the do it yourselfer =things to think about..For the concerned owner=questions to ask if your coach is ready for these service test:: to be recorded in your Prevost Maintance book. Then you know when and who was responsible for work. I record my own work —-I know the dummy(who) but the when and what I used (example) distilled water-Detroit Extended Antifreeze $8gl plus preloaded coolant filter on Oct 21 2013, What this tell me good for up to 6 years in my use/mileage and filter should go life of coolant .Prob run a strip test around 2017–

Mark was not saying you are wrong, but to change oil every 5000 miles !!! I would be in shop more than on road I would put that on in 3 weeks I travel 1600 miles a week for the last 25 years have never had trouble with a motor Cat , Cummings , or Detroit all had 600,000 miles on them when I sold them.. I always did it on 200 hours hit or miss , usually if it starts to drop on dip stick its time to change it just my thoughts.. I too change oil and filters in engine and gen before parking it for 3 months……..Gen at 150 hours toooo…..I drain air tanks every week and grease every 5000 miles .. And drain wet tank every day .. I think I over do the maintenance to be honest…Not many people change all the filters every time they service it or change all other fluids every year and belts….

Back a couple of years ago I bought two windshields for our H3-40. The price was something like $90 each and I knew I would eventually need them.
With this talk about installing windshields I am interested in hearing any tips that may be available for replacing them in an H.
BTW, our coach has the four separate windshields.
Thanks for your help in advance.

So you’re able to support an entire corner of the bus on oak 4″x6″s. Do you pile them one wide? or two side? (so you have 12″ wide essentially so supporting the bus). Thanks for the info.

I used white ash only because thats what I had at the time. The bottem peice is about 24 ins wide and 6ft 6in long. The top is a little storter for the ramp effect. The 4×6 blocking I used is oak. Rick

Had some major damage here in Illinois. We lost the ridge vent on the house which wasn’t a huge deal but the water that came through the cathedral ceiling was unappreciated:) Got it fixed this morning, now ready to tackle some of the big trees that came down. Thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Washington, IL that lost their entire homes!

The upper lights were likely converter installed and the docking / cornering likely Prevost installed.

Bob,
On 24 volt (Elegant Lady) Liberty coaches a lot of the electrical lights and devices are controlled by small relays driven by a bank of PLCs. That is how Liberty sets up their electrical system on that model.
So typically when something wont work or shut off the part most likely to be the cause is a small relay. The system sounds complex because a switch in the house talks to the PLC, which in turn actuates a relay which then lights a light, but in fact it works very well and is reliable. In about 10 years of ownership of two coaches with that system my total system repairs have been 2 failed relays, and it took less than 5 minutes each time to figure out which one it was and swap out the relay.
The lights are not the halogen lights used for cornering, but lights used at one time on GM pickup trucks that are used for area lighting when parked.
