flame did not go past the metal edges you can see in pictures I cut the two layes of flooring and lead sheet out…The was it was when I started.. -

all bushings -lines brakes valves norgrens bearings—-you think about it—- and you have forgot something I have already done. Still got the junk yard lookin body though. That’s next year! Thanks for you patients.. and encourgment…I do blast and paint as I go = rust be gone now along with all that nasty look.. Need to fasten up all runs of air wires hydline hvac but need to keep tunnel open a little longer for last project. have all spacers and clamps in place working area at time. all labled and tatoo /color coded. Primer is in the plan for non stainless on fire damaged and slide painted area till next year as I really don’t like color of the whole bus any way… Will decide what we JUDY & Grandkids we being family wants and do it our way.. Will be home dome -non conventional. old hot rodder smelled to much lacure.

Very interesting, can’t help wondering, did the heat from the fire modify the temper of the suspension/framing components, thus rendering them less strong?
This project is surely an example of “where there is a will, there is a way”

Jim;;;; not really the pic is after blasting and surface rust has set in. the rubber bushings we not burned out.. I replaced all as a matter of a complete rehad. The fire was quick and responce blocks away… even all the plastic air lines were not melted. tires were holding air after fire and all but two came to my house on rear of coach. Tags were gone. Part of my decision to take chance… Tag bags were burned but driver bags in tact—go figure??? Good observation and questions I really thought !!!!!!
Not my bus at time of fire and was a pro built conversion that burned in front of the owners home. There are fire pic on this board some where Under busfires. Bob Side note This is my hobby!!!

with back surgery—- rehab—- love of the build—- realistic—–other hobbies—–1000hrs hands on. good estimate. mind on subject in thousands.. knowledge and rehab gained priceless!!!
