Relax folks it wasn’t deleted. There’s an issue with the title in admin, Bill and Jessica will fix it. This is not POG and it didn’t cost you a 100 bucks.

John,
Back in the trucking days we operated the jake with a toggle switch on the dash. Most had it in line with the transmission shifter so if your hand is on the shifter knob you could easily flick it with your index finger.
To be able to do this you have to buy a toggle switch extender of a couple inches that slides right over the switch.
Granted I think in your era coach the jake is positioned in a piss poor spot. I didn’t like my 07 either.
So before you try an reinvent the wheel go to the I80 Walcott Truckstop website IOWA80.COM and look for truck parts electric and you’ll see dash accessory’s and they have everything you need. Rocker switch covers, toggle switches and extenders.
It will sure give you ideas to maybe put it in the top left corner of the dash where you can easily get at it. You can probably find it locally but they have it.
We wear out the I15 corridor and I didn’t like to run with the jake engaged all the time when you get north of Vegas. This type of setup would work well.

Prior to replacing them aux compressor would cycle about every 15-20 minutes so far has taken over hour for it to cycle. I did a video on YouTube about changing them. Maybe this might help.

No need to go overboard as most drive four to eight hours in a day which provides a lot of amps available to the batteries even at the relatively low amp out rating of most BtoB chargers.

We have five clearance/turn signals on each side of our coach. I bought LED replacement lamp fixtures from Bill Puleo from the Chrome Depot. I was a little concerned about the LED having enough amp draw, but they work fine. In fact I am very, very happy with them. Get them from Bill for your coach! Great replacement.

The Victron buck-boost charger, 50A (with 24v) is about $1150 each. If you wanted 200A, that would put this at over $4k. I actually though that Victron might have had the Orion branded chargers for 24v->24v, (which are much cheaper) but that does not appear to be the case.

Does anyone realize how much of a pounding our suspensions get just from being driven?
I have 32 years of abusing mine, with 22 of them extreme,
First, to get into my garage I have an extensive process of exercising the entire suspension, full range.
Starting at the bottom of the driveway I leave the rear at ride height, but fully raise the front to prevent high centering. When I get the rear at the garage door I lower it all the way down. Then I back until the nose is about 15 feet out, and fully lower the front.
The bus remains fully lowered backing the rest of the way in and until we unload it. Then when unloading is done I raise it completely, front and rear and support it on stands and get all but the axle weight off the tires, plus have additional height to be able to get beneath it and work on it.
To leave on a trip the procedure is reversed.

MemberDecember 8, 2021 at 11:12 am in reply to: Connecting to 30 amp service Inverter operationAmps, volts, and watts (both AC and DC) are often confusing and mystery to many people, especially motorhome owners. Where they often had no limits or constraints on their electrical use at home, on the farm, or at their business the motorhome presents a whole new set of challenges and a learning curve.
If you’re confused or just plain don’t understand amps, volts, watts, or the terminology (legs, neutral, ground, etc) or how they impact your coach and the use of your coach ask questions. That’s how most of us learned about this stuff.

MemberDecember 8, 2021 at 8:42 am in reply to: Connecting to 30 amp service Inverter operationKeep in mind two important things. First, no matter what the power rating is, the safest and most reliable is 80% of that value or less. The breaker manufacturers make them to trip at the rating or below and to avoid premature tripping of the service stay under 80%.
The second is the potential confusion by how the service is described. In a power panel such as found for hook ups in an RV park we refer to the service as 20, 30 or 50 amp power. In fact the 20 and 30 amp service is accurate and despite it being ideal to balance the loads between the legs you can load either leg with the total load, but 50 amp is actually 50 amp per leg for a total of 100 amps. If either leg exceeds 50 amps however the breaker will trip so theoretically you can have a 100 amp load as long as the loads are balanced between the legs.
