I don’t know the gauge; but those lower panels are very thin..easy to press and polish. Not sure what I would use for a bumper..maybe a big hammer and a steel plate?
The polishing is messy business…but scratches come out with sanding…work up to 600 grit and then polish..after all, it is just metal.
IBP makes the swap easy – it is always about preference.

Huh. I’ve had good experience with IBP and Steve Kolb.
We boogered up our bumper with the trailer early on. I never thought about taking it to a 100 ton press, straightening it, and polishing. Just bought a bumper section from IBP. Had them cut in a hole for the RV plug.

My guess is that diff temp is not nearly as big an issue on trucks, Our coaches have limited cooling air flow and diff temps become critical at high speeds, high ambient temps, and if you’re towing a heavy load. I have a 300F oil temp gauge on my diff and I could peg it if I wanted to.

I use non-synthetic 85-140 on my King Aire and that is what came stock on it. No reason to use synthetic and pay more. I don’t know or care what the temperature is. Make sure the oil level is correct and run it.
We never had axle temp gauges on a single truck we owned and never had a lubrication related failure in any of them so I don’t think it is as big a deal as some think it is. We did service every truck every week at some level, so they were looked at for leaks etc. and that is probably more important than anything.

I use a Galaxy tablet. I see the text as gray to black.

I did some rough calculations as I have none of the details.
An air flow rate of 0.5 cfm is sufficient to keep the hydrogen accumulation to 1% or less under worst case condition of 60C at 28.8vdc for 8 total 8-D batteries.
If you provide the number of batteries, model number, and enclosure size I can be a bit more accurate and give you a good idea how fast the system can reach a dangerous condition when the ventilation fails.
Under normal conditions very little ventilation is needed. It’s unlikely, but possible, that your system will actually need 0.5 cfm of air flow.

Do you know any specific model numbers people like and are using? There’s a lot of compressors on their site.

Mike I’d find a good Radiator shop to R&R that puppy for sure. Cheap Insurance for a 8V92.

I pulled all mine out and installed a square drive plug as chuck mentioned. I live in a very dry environment, had my bus over 2 years, and never a drop have i seen in any of my tanks.

I thought Jon and/or Tom had the direct number for a Michelin customer service manager.

We’ve put about 55 or 60 thousand miles flat towing on two Chevy HHRs from Wisconsin to Maine to Tennessee to Florida to Brownsville TX, to Malibu CA, Vegas, Salt Lake City, and back to Wisconsin. Very few stone chips. No discernible windshield chips.
We plan on going to Alaska in the next two or three summers. Will likely take the current HHR. My plan is do with the car what my Dad and Uncle Jim did with new Kaiser-Frazer they took up the ALCAN Highway in 1948 when they got back to Wisconsin … sell it.
I wouldn’t bother with “protection”.

Thanks. Another cup of coffee and some thinking time and I finally got myself unconfused. Left over the 90 degree box is the Prevost AC compressor which services the dash air and the physically smaller one on the right services the automatic CC OTR units in the bathroom and salon. Now I need to figure out what those two have in common in the electrical relm as the clutches in both seem not to work right now and the lights below the automatic unit switches on the dash do not illuminate when the buttons are pushed.

When traveling in the heat, i run the generator with the front or mid Rooftop AC running. When parked boondocking, i run the rooftops, same when plugged into Shore. All 3 are brand new installed last year.
