Tom, You mentioned the AtwoodEHM11-AM. I googled it without the AM and the Atwater site came up with the listing of their water heaters. It says for that “one electric with heat exchanger.” Does that mean the engine coolant will heat the domestic water while going down the road? I have mentioned on PC before that my AquaHot is on its last legs and I am looking for a temporary solution until I can replace it. The engine coolant warming the domestic water is one feature I hate to loose even temporarily.

Tom, a bad check valve on the heater itself? If I am understanding it right there cold inlet into the tank is a one way valve…its held good presure over night.

Can you buy the lower and upper units sperately? I see they are somewhat unique and work together, i.e. just one temp control for both. My top unit looks near new. (tank condition)

Sounds like false economy me to me. Effectively more than half their life gone but only around 12 price. Check the weight rating as well. That 1/2″ May make all the difference.

Gary, Geo is right, no bus air with a four slide coach.

We have ‘driver’s air’ along with four roof top air units. I can run all four going down the road as we have four 3,500 watt inverters. Generally, two are fine if needed. The driver’s air has an additional function as it appears to have a ‘buddy’ unit, one controller for the main unit and an additional controller for the extra unit for hot days. The additional unit operates vents behind the seat and a vent at the entry door.

To me, we have plenty of room with the slides in. On travel days, we stop and make lunch and sit at the dinette. We have full use of the fridge, kitchen and the two sofa’s. We have a bath and a half so the middle bathroom is available. The bed blocks the full bath in the back.

I have no information if that is an issue that needs to be addressed or if it is going to be left as is.

With the extensive riveting around the perimeter, with the top Zee strip and full perimeter sealing I would think to loosen the panels enough to lift it away from the frame to clean and reseal the panel to the frame would be a process that is evenmore time consuming and expensive than the rivet repair process was in the first place.

I don’t know if the loose panel in the center is a cosmetic issue, an issue regarding the strength of the coach shell, or if it is an unimportant defect.

Anyone out there that has first hand knowledge of such an issue and the Prevost position regarding it?

Jon, what about the coaches that have had the “final/permanent fix” that have since re-loosened in the center ? Geo.

Sounds like the 1999 is inside the diff. Anyone know the chassis cut-off number?

FYI…cut-off date for the change from internal to external sensors is supposed to be mid-1998 production per Prevost parts dept so mine should be external. Thanks for the tip about reseating the sensor in the sleeve. I’ll try that first.

    Jeff….

I’m so glad you visited with Rod and Nancy… they are true Prevost owners and it was just a couple of years ago that they came to the OKC Rally in search of the coach of their dreams… they toured many coaches while there and quizzed the owners seeking info to help them with their decision on what would serve them best for their needs.

Look at as many coaches as you can and only then will you get a feel for what you really want. We started out with a 1998 H3-45 and after being in Jon & Di’s Liberty I knew what I wanted… it just felt “right” you will get that feeling when you go in the right one. Then our search was for a Liberty… but an H3-45 and without a realistic dream of one showing up anytime soon that was everything we wanted… there it was for sale everything we wanted and then some….made the deal in a couple of hours…. that’s when we became members of the TBC (two bus club) for the second time in 4 years which I don’t recommend…. however we did sell the Vantare and left the TBC !! And have since had numerous serious enquiries about the Vantare… probably now it’s gone could sell it several more times…. our location was a big drawback too.

Take your time and find the one that feels right when you walk in…remembering too that the important things are in good shape, rather than cosmetic things that can easily be changed.

    Cheers, Diane

Put a piece of black type over the light on the dash and have a great trip. That’s what bernie told me how to fix it.

Before you change it, see if it has just backed off from the sensor ring. I had mine all pushed in while at JAX and have not had the light since. They said it was common, especially if the wire was too tight and pulled on the sensor at all.
