seminar blackout
Posted by Archived on April 11, 2014 at 7:18 pmHey does anyone remember what the guys from prevost said to use to seal stuff up on the roof ? I must have gone over to get some of that WONDERFUL coffee and missed it . Either that or the Alzheimers kicked back in that morning, OR and Im not admitting anything mind you, or I might have had a bit of a hangover .Well whatever it was I missed a few things here and there.

Here’s a product that is tough to beat on roof seams, like where the end caps adjoin the roof.

Thanks Gil. I will remember that one but I sure wish I could remember what that other stuff was called.

Was it Sikaflex? They seem to use that for everything from sealing to panels.

not sure of the spelling but it was Rick May who was talking about it from parliament. Something like Snead or something like that. He was saying it was a self leveling sealant he used in the housing market years ago, and still uses it in the motorcoach side of things.

It is Snead.. But can’t remember the rest of the name… Rick May used 6 or so tubes on the top of our coach today at Parliament Motor Coach. They did an awesome job…removed all the old antennas and resealed everything !!
A truly great place to get service work done. We were there 5 days and had lot of work done from new slide seals, new anometer, brakes adjusted, all new norgren valves, new tank sensor, new power cord reel, HWH levelling system overhauled, all A/Cs checked & repairs to existing duct work…we found out we were cooling the bay with the RVAC, a new sensor on accelerator pedal…at least 2 guys working non stop the whole time.
We are now on the road headed home to Texas and the bus is running like a new one… Thanks Rick & Ben !
Ben was also hands on along with Rick the entire time… These guys know their stuff !!
We highly recommend them.

Looks like this will get your to the site if I did it right. Seems like the right sealant might be SM 5514 self leveling sealant.

Ok kids we just got back from Parliament and I got the sealant that Rick was talking about. Its called ACRYL-R ,The number on it is sm5504 and its made by schnee-morehead. Parliament sells it for 14.95 a tube.
Ben says Rick has been using it since before Ben was born, or something close to that. Thanks again for the input and I hope this helps everyone else too.
