We will see how much success he has with mine. I am taking it to him today and then I will be on a mission trip for about two weeks. I am sure he will probably look at it while I am gone. I will let you know.

You’ll most likely will need to use an Allison HT 740 (4 speed) or maybe HT 750CR (5 speed). Do you know which differential ratio you have??

I have had 2 experiences with people passing and diving in front or me and purposely hitting their brakes.

The first one believe it or not was A Maryland Prince George County police. He was passing me so close I felt that he was going to side swipe me while passing. Luckily that gave me A heads up that he was up to no good and I applied the brakes at that point. He then dove in front of me and applied his brakes very hard, he miss judged that my speed had slowed way down. He pulled away A short distance then did it again by this time I was almost at a stop on the DC Capital Beltway.

The only thing I can think of he must have been looking for an insurance claim (hit A cop you are always at fault)

Did I get his car number? No I was to shook up to think clearly all I could do was thank God I had missed him.

Never under any condition let anyone move around in the bus while driveing.

Last November while 6 of us were returning from the Florida Flywheelers Show one of the guys had to go to the bathroom. Wouldn’t you know it, someone passed dove in front and jamed on his brakes and dove off at an interchange on I 95 in North Carolina. The passenger went flying into the table and brused his hip and landed on the floor. That could have been a lot worse, All of us still talk about that.

Bill, you can always expect to see water drain from that compartment because that is the evaporator side of the OTR system. What I cannot tell you is how many drains there are on your conversion because as near as I can tell there are also drains on my coach for other than the OTR such as for the port center Cruise Air unit. That means some drains are going to be dripping while others are likely to be bone dry.

I think if you open the OTR evaporator door you will be able to see the drains and likely be able to determine which are going to drain when you use the OTR. I doubt if any are clogged because of how the rubber boot on the outside is configured to keep stuff from entering from the outside, while allowing flow from the inside.

    Fred,

I don’t want to rain on your parade, but just to equal the phantom loads, not counting anything else including the refrigerator on your coach, you need about 400 to 700 watts. Anything less than that and you are still drawing your batteries down and eventually will be starting the generator. Until you get into the hidden stuff on your coach you don’t realize all the subtle unknown current draws built into our coaches. If you leave the switch on for the entertainment center or the TVs add to the wattage needs. If you want the refrigerator to keep working add even more.

While is seems silly to run the generator using expensive diesel fuel when the sun provides power if we can grabs some of it, the reality is Ron likely has gone to great lengths to be energy efficient, something our store bought conversions are not, at least to the extent Ron has. Even if you go to great pains to minimize the electrical loads such as killing power to the 12 volt radios, all the clocks, the temperature gauge, the alarm system, the smoke or CO detector, the tank level monitors, etc. etc. you still have a refrigerator that should be propane powered instead of electric for greater efficiency. You still have a water pump. you still have a satellite system that needs to be off, a doorbell, and of course the inverters, all of which are likely robbing you of battery power in one form or another.

Look at it another way. You have a generator that is good for 30,000 hours or more before it starts to wear out. Why not plan on running it until it does wear out and then consider solar as a susbstitute. By then solar energy may actually be more advanced than today and maybe you can get some real power from panels on the roof.

Lot ownership is similar to home ownership. You always have your lot available when you want to use it. You can fix up the lot with landscaping and pavers to suit your taste. When you are not using the lot you can rent it and opffset some of your carry expense. Our population is growing older and more and more people are retiring, and RVing is expected to explode over the next few years. There are few if any new RV resorts being built in Florida. In the not too distant future many people are going to find they cannot find rental sites during “the season”. People who buy now will realize good increase in the value of their lot in a couple of years, in my opinion. Our economy has always gone up and down and then back up. This time will be no different. Now is a great time to buy a lot in quality resorts!!
