Bill, you can always expect to see water drain from that compartment because that is the evaporator side of the OTR system. What I cannot tell you is how many drains there are on your conversion because as near as I can tell there are also drains on my coach for other than the OTR such as for the port center Cruise Air unit. That means some drains are going to be dripping while others are likely to be bone dry.

I think if you open the OTR evaporator door you will be able to see the drains and likely be able to determine which are going to drain when you use the OTR. I doubt if any are clogged because of how the rubber boot on the outside is configured to keep stuff from entering from the outside, while allowing flow from the inside.

Thanks Jon, I saw the three drains with the boots and they are open. I quess there will be a certain amount of water on that floor that just has not run out the drains so everything must be normal.

Forgive my lack of specific knowledge about the XLII (I’m learning), but on my two previous coaches the floor in the evaporator compartment was stainless steel and had drains for condensate right in the floor. I don’t think any harm comes from condensate driaining to the floor and then the drains.

In the southeast where humidities are at the high end of the chart our OTR (and Cruise Airs when running) wring an enormous amount of moisture from the air. Any time I see water dripping or running from a condensate drain I know my AC is doing a good job.

I had a stainless steel pan made and mounted under the box with the condenser in it. Then ran the drain hose from the new tray. That took care of it. Mine was just sealed with tin foil tape and it leaked. Where is the spell checker? I found it once.
