Greg,
We have a 92 Liberty XL40 and the fan is about 2″ away from the face of the radiator when there is no air on the tension cylinder and it is collapsed all the way. When the air is applied the cylinder extends and actually pushes the fan closer to the radiator. The cylinder travel is such that if the belts break the fan can not contact the radiator.
As far as the circumference of the fan,,,, there is about an inch or so from the fan shroud. I do not see any way of the fan contacting the shroud or radiator unless there is an incorrect cylinder or the fan gearbox bearings are bad or mounting bolts are loose.
I have pics but unable to upload to this site for some reason.

Kinda off topic but Jon, Do you really think Prevost owners would ever bragg about there bigger and multiple slides?

Just got off the phone with Detroit Allison. They say 15 is a little low but should not affect starting. Normally 20 – 30 PSI at idle. They suggested checking the check valve in the Racor filter,,, may be losing prime. I thought adding the electric pump would prevent that so I am not sure how that is possible with the electric pump before the Racor. I am also not sure how the closed system could lose prime even if the check valve were not sealing. It seems to me there would have to be a leak to allow air to get in.

Rod & Nancy, We are almost directly west (and a little south) of you. We stay here because that’s where we live. We are between Bradenton and Sarasota. How long are you here ?

Jack14r,
I’m not sure I quite understand what you are saying. You have one tank in your Liberty Coach but you can bypass with the grey water? My assumption was that if you have one tank, ‘everything’ goes in the black and grey tank and it is all flushed at one time. Is that correct?

I found a place in Cincinnati. I plan to move the bus there this afternoon. It is a balmy 11 degrees at this moment and the wind is blowing too.
I will post the details on this place upon my return.

Jon /others do a much better job of communicating than I do. Thank goodness for the help!! for me.. In a perfect world we would never have corrision or bad connections—-one weak link(batt cell) all loads would be equal( devices are in place to help this) all that is perfect!! world.. And yes I would spell better…I only point out most likely points to start from–then step 2 etc……
