Thanks Jon, I feel better now. It sounds like the condition of ours is much better than I thought. By your description it sounds like your later coaches.

I am with you on the sand blasting, I don’t mind a little elbow grease on a wire brush, had good luck with a needle descaler also. I am leary about pressure washing for the same reasons. Usually use Purple degreaser and water hose.

It is amazing just what you can find when you are able to actually sit up under the coach. You must grin every time you use your pit. So far an oil line leak, transmission filter leak, power steering line leak. All leaks were just a matter of tightening some loose fittings, and the transmission filter was loose. The previous owner never touched the coach, always had the work done.

The 8V92 is dry as a bone. And all the time I thought the drips on the floor were from the engine, always heard they marked their spot like a Harley. Should have known better, my Harley does not leak either.

Pretty damn happy with the rig right now !!

    Jon,

Investment is for sure WRONG word…I know better from my bottomless pits that float! Everytime I turn around its a couple more grand! I guess my meaning was that I believe I have an oppurtunity to purchase this coach extremely far back of any guides that are in publication. If engine is good and transmission is good then my though pattern is I could gut and refurb to my likings and still get multiple years of enjoyment out of it. If I purchase I plan on keeping for multiple years and truly understand that the oppurtunity to actually make any money is far from reality!

Obvisouly it is a really unique and undesired layout but I would have to think that if majority of major components are in working order then I could possibly reconfigure interior for lets say around $50k? I have not had chance to actually see the coach in person, which will happen tomorrow, so I really dont know what kind of shape it is in other than pictures that were sent to me from current owner.

I am always extremely fond of thankful that we have avenues such as this forum to discuss items like this. I always seem to learn and absorb more useful information from speaking with folks like yourself!

Once again THANKS to all for the priceless knowledge and comments!

Can you imagine burning a tire today! Wonder if you could still see the smoke from the jail cell.

As an aside, the generator fuel filter(s) are often less forgiving than the engine filters when it comes to clogging due to algae contamination. If you see evidence of algae in your primary fuel filter/ water seperator, don’t forget to service the generator filters as well.

From personal experience, it’s a much more enjoyable task when you’re planning for it than when you’re at a rally, with no shore power, in the summer, with the generator running 24/7 and all of a sudden …….

    Well, you get the idea…

The wire rope was in bad shape or they exceeded the working load limit of the wire rope. There is only a few reasons why wire rope fails , damaged wire rope, or over loaded wire rope !!!!!

I would be reluctant to even offer an opinion. That might be worth a call to Prevost at the factory.

Thread Creep = This is what happens when Jon’s jeans get a little age on them and Di has to get out the needle and thread, but she has to substitute the thread with Acme High Strength Mega string.

Oop’s, now Cory & George will be harassing me for contributing to the creep.

Hi Bryan. We have NO issues towing the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. It gives more than twice the mpg of our H2 Hummer, and can be turned sharper too. BTW, anyone want a yellow, garaged, 2007 H2 Hummer w/36000 miles? Bruce
