Andre,
If you want piece and quiet and be close to the beach, go to Myakka River Resort in Port Charlotte. That time of year they will cut you a deal as a PC member. Red can tell you all about it.

If anyone is interested in an “un-rally rally” in early May at Two Rivers in Seiverville,Tn. make your interest known and we’ll try to get space blocked out.
-
We’ll bring enough polish so we all can shine up our slack adjusters.

I
do respect your opinion Brian, but the reason I stated why we would
not be doing any more structured Rally’s was for the group as a
whole. With 980 members, the correct thing to do was to explain why
there would be no more and the reasons behind that decision. There is
no professional courtesy on the other side and my efforts to have a
new beginning have been ignored and swept under the rug as usual. So
the wrong thing to do would have been to announce our decision to not
have anymore structured Rally’s and then keep that reason hidden from
the folks on this site. We don’t do it that way. The OKC Rally was
already on the books, so with that cancellation, the members should
have gotten a straight explanation and they did.You
are incorrect about doubting anyone would opt for one vs the other,
that’s a fact.We’re
very happy to see you on the forum, it’s been a long time and hope
this answer doesn’t keep you hidden in the bushes. -
There is one reason I would like the front steps installed. I would like to explore the possibility of removing the mid steps and building a lift for my adult handicapped daughter that travels with us. None of the stock lifts or even the modified lifts I have found work on my bus for various reasons without major and costly modifications to the bus.
A lift could be built in the space where the mid steps are now. If built properly it should be able to lift her in her manual chair or as she is standing. I have an engineer friend working on designing a simple mechanical lift with off the shelf parts that would be easily sourced on the road. All of it is in the research stage right now.
A bonus reason is that I may be able to access some things in that bay that are inaccessable now. With the steps gone I could install a removable panel.

I know, we can plan a rally around my coach! All the guys can tear into my engine compartment and wiring and the women can sit around and wonder what the hell’s wrong with us.
The evenings can be drinks, campfires and me paying for dinner! Popeye’s Chicken for everyone!

MemberMarch 16, 2014 at 3:14 pm in reply to: What are the differences between coach converters? My reluctance to embrace “technology” is because it still appears to me to be more about showing off than practicality.
And while it is nice to impress visitors or CC owners with my new fangled XLII Crestron features, the hard reality is at some point that touch screen device will puke and I will not be able to get it repaired or replaced. That’s a concern.
Part of my increasing fear about the future of the technology is because if we count up the number of issues we have had on this site, the vast majority relate to changes in the devices and software that drives those devices. We have had more issues of people not being able to access or read the site from their ipads or smart phones than any other problems. There is a mindset out in the marketplace that seems to think once a computer or cell phone or an in-dash radio, or any similar device is more than a few years old it not only doesn’t make sense to repair it, it doesn’t make sense to keep it.
Maybe that is OK when you are dealing with a cell phone or its operating system, but when you have something built into a mega buck coach and it is no longer supported how do you justify putting in another system that won’t be supported in another 5 or 10 years?
In case this sounds like a false concern, the way my coach is set up the only way I can open the door between the galley and the bath area in my coach from the galley side is to use one of the multiple Crestron touch screen devices in my coach. That ability to open or close the door is only on the Crestron next to the door. If it pukes when the door is closed and nobody is on the other side of the door where there is a switch I have to take a chain saw to the door to get to the rear of the coach.

MemberMarch 16, 2014 at 11:08 am in reply to: What are the differences between coach converters?About the differences in converters I thought of the following scenario and it got me thinking. I can imagine pulling up to the Canadian border in my future H3 with my blackberry phone in hand saying to the guard,” Hey, does driving a Canadian made Prevost with a blackberry phone make me an honorary Canadian so I can get across the border faster?”
I then remembered that Apple and in some cases the Android phones are the interface with the Crestron and Savant systems. Well a Prevost is expensive, nothing is hack proof, but with security being important, could I go to a converter and have my blackberry be the link to the Crestron system for access to the cameras and the coach controls? It seems the system should be available to either all phones or the most secure.
After all I wound not want the bored campground teenager hacking in to my coach security cameras to see the dog chewing something or watching me. However I need the camera to see that it is safe when I am not there.
So which converter if any could link my blackberry to the device on the coach? Or would I have to pay blackberry a fee to make a program for the Crestron, or get a complete ground up blackberry made Crestron counterpart?

Like everyone I was sorry to hear about the rally situation. Thanks to you Tom and Jon and everyone that contributed to the past success. Branson was our first rally and it was great in every way. New experiences, new friends, and a wealth of new knowledge and information. We regret not being to make Lazy Days but appreciate your efforts and all the benefits you have created thru the programs you have established and the huge pool of knowledge you have gathered together at PC. Others have offered and you can add my name to the list to share the load for whatever needs PC may have. Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you !

David,
You sly devil, when are we going to get the skinny on the H?

Coach is level and the door closes a bit hard. So saw that the top was going in a bit further than the bottom. Going down the road it doesn’t make any noise. When I initially got the the coach, the door was hitting the body of the coach. So I adjusted it a bit to move more to the left to keep it from hitting.
I guess that brings up another question. Is it normal for the door to be somewhat hard to close. If I don’t latch the door, it will stick out 3 inches. it then takes a bit of effort to get the door latched from that point. You really have to slam the door almost. Unlatching from the inside, it helps to pull on the door before moving the handle.
I’m getting to the point where I’m finding all the little issues and tweaking them.
thanks
Rod

Jon or Tom,
Any thoughts on videotaping your seminars and making them available? Bill and Robert are a wealth of information that I and probably others would pay money to defray costs so that we could have in our Prevost Info Library.

Bristol brand was bought outby Valterra. So, most RV parts house have Valterra. Be glad the valves aren’t Thetord, tougher to find. Vintage Airstreams use them
Looks from your photo, the whole thing comes out once you remove all screws. Probably a gasket on either side of valve, clean, replace. I wouldn’t b too concerned about the grey water, but black water tank without a valve is a good time to give your bus a case of the leans..-)))
