    Andy,

Since you haven’t gotten any responses yet, I’ll jump in. Generally speaking, you are pretty close on most points. Be aware different converters may set CruiseAirs up differently, so I’ll tell how ours works. First, you’re pretty much on target on the OTR, except our CruiseAirs do not use the same vents or fans as the Prevost OTR system, and I don’t think any converters use the OTR ducts for CruiseAirs–anybody who knows something different can jump in. We have four CruiseAirs. The cockpit AC evaporator is directly behind the driver and blows straight up–some converters or owners put a diverter on top of the outlet to get better diffusion. Our salon AC is mounted in the ceiling in front of the passenger seat, the vents blow straight back in the salon, and it also has vents that blow down into the cockpit. Our galley AC is mounted behind the refrigerator, and has vents above the refrigerator, in the bathroom, and in the toilet area. The bedroom AC is mounted inside our Techlink closet on the passenger side, and has a vent near the ceiling on the same side.

The Prevost OTR system has vents in the bedroom, the bathroom, on each side of the salon, and a vent each for the driver and passenger. I suspect if you have two slides, you probably only have vents on one side of the coach, and if you have more than two slides, I understand Prevost OTR system is not available.

On the road, we alternate between running OTR and CruiseAirs on generator. We have had both a CruiseAir go out on high pressure, and also the OTR system. When it happens, we switch to the other system for a while–always nice to have both.

We have been running two CruiseAirs at the house with the coach in the sun at 100 degrees, and with thermostat set at 76 degrees, it kept it reasonably cool inside. Our friends just got here with their Prevost, and since we use a buddy plug system, I’m now running on just one CruiseAir. Definitely warmer, but not intolerable inside our coach.

But we love having both CruiseAirs and OTR, nothing like redundancy when you’re dealing with sometimes temperamental mechanical systems!

I have been mulling things over and have started look into what PeterC suggested, a Royale. From what I can tell they seem like what I am looking for. A more simple coach and I like the idea of a solid front axle and a 60 Series engine. As a matter of fact it wil have to have one. I have been putting together a list of items I would like to have on the coach, outlinning things I must have and some things I am more flexable on. I more than likely wont find this coach in Canada and will have to bite the bullet on the exchange. This will be viewed as a long term purchase and I just will trust in the end things will work out.

As noted above the coach will be used quite a bit for dry camping in northern climates. I dont ever want to be in the south in the summer. Ten years in Texas was enough for this northern boy. I love it there but could not deal with the heat. Most years I will be in the north until late fall then head south to AZ. for the winter riding mules and bird hunting.

Is there anywhere I can gather additional information on the Royal Coaches and what to expect and to look for ? I have scoured the internet and searched this site and have quite a bit on general information. There are a few on the market now and am having a look at a few on the net. Now, I am open to other conversions so if you see something or know of something that may fit, please let me know.

Thanks in advance and I have to tell you what a great group of people on here and a great site !

I guess when I right the check for my first Prevost, I will get the instructions for the serect hand shake ?

We had a mobile satellite pro do a software upgrade on our Tracstar 360 and it is working great.. just used it everyday for 3 weeks and its awesome.

I have heard that the KVH RV1 is a good unit… I was first told to get the Winegard but then the Mobile sat guru said the best by far is the KVH RV1. Holds a signal better than the Winegard units.

if you search the Forum there was a heap of info listed under Tracstar 360.

    Cheers, Diane

    Stretch,

Very jealous of your upcoming trip to Frisco. I wanted to compete this year as well. Unfortunately timing was just a little off so I’m still down here in FL melting. Best of luck to you! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I took Jon’s advice and stayed the the Lodi Outlet Mall at exit 204 on I-71. It was the most expensive campground to date. On the way to sign the paperwork at the customer service desk in the food court, I spent $240 in bargains. Regardless, plenty of room with security for a quick and easy overnight stay.

That’s a great find! I have a rattle at the front passenger side mirror that has driven me and nuts since purchase.I would LOVE to find the cause of that.

I would recommend Progressive Industries. We are in NM now and just had an issue with our PT50C. Was able to speak with the owner and he/Progressive is going above and beyond getting us a replacement unit. As stated earlier keep a copy of your receipt in the bus and register your unit online with Progressive. This way you will be covered no mater where you travel.

    Kurt,

I would not assume anything. It is more than likely it will operate the same, but every converter seems to have their own way of doing things, and what they did on one coach may not be what they did on the next coach in line.

Check is in the mail Fred, good catch. He was answering a call from As Seen On TV, he found the golden collection of the Lennon Sisters, a prized possession.

Your dues just doubled. In fact, it won’t take much to get me to triple them.
