Surge protector recommendation
So I bought a Surge Guard 34750 about 14 months ago. Worked great up till winter when I started noticing when I plugged it into the 50amp outlet, plugged the coach into it and then turned the breaker on the outlet on, after going through it’s 190 second check, I would get one side of the 50 amp powered in the coach. turn the breaker off at the outlet, turn it back on and it would generally work. Then it just stopped working on that one side of the 50 amp. Plugged the coach directly into the power supply and it’s all good. So I can tell it’s the surge guard unit.
Of course now that I look into getting this worked on, I find the amazingly low reviews on TRC and their support (as in they don’t answer the phones and when they do, they don’t actually get back to you when they say they will).
So rather then buying another TRC Surge Guard, figured I would check with others on what they are using and have had good experience with.
I like the unit that is external to the coach and plugs inline.
So any recommendations on good surge protectors for 50 amp setup that goes inline between the coach shore line power pedestal?

My Progressive industries unit has been flawless for 3 years.

I had a smiler e pertinence with the surge guard. When you turn on the power if the led does not come to life, the unit will not restore power.
They replaced one one unit under the warranty . When the replacement had the same issue it was out of warranty and it hit the trash can. Surge protection is nice but restoring power after an outage is essential.

My Progressive Industries surge protector failed last year and, because of a bad generator battery, I returned to a hot, dark coach with a smelly fridge.
I sent it back to be repaired, it was returned quickly and free, and been good since.

I use the Progressive Industries PT50C, I think this unit is the best all around unit. There tech support and warranty is fantastic. I did a search on ebay, here is the link for 3090. Just keep your reciept, they will not do warranty work for free if you do not have it. I bought mine in 2014 for 3200

I would recommend Progressive Industries. We are in NM now and just had an issue with our PT50C. Was able to speak with the owner and he/Progressive is going above and beyond getting us a replacement unit. As stated earlier keep a copy of your receipt in the bus and register your unit online with Progressive. This way you will be covered no mater where you travel.

Not only is it a surge protector, it monitors low and high voltage, neutral ground, it also displays amps per L1 and L2 legs, rev polarity, open ground, and a few other things.
