For some reason after his first Beaver he switched to CC which is the one in Video. Maybe fast floyd went to work for CC and brought Ernie with him. I know when Ralph bought his Beaver coach Ralph said it had SunBum on the front and the shower door had the etched E and T on it. Ernie made they remove those from the bus before it could be sold.

I live just south of the I-76/I-80 interchange in Hagerstown MD and just took my bus last week from the Volvo shop at that interchange to Elite Bus near Lancaster and back through York to my house. I have made the haul to St. Louis many times and we are in the York/Lancaster area quite often. If you want to email me, I can give you my phone number and happy to give you local advice.

Figures I’d be the one to stump a custom hose & coupling place. ha ha Oh well, I’ve almost got it back together again. I’m just draining water out of the tank now…an astonishing amount of water….
I look forward to meeting up, Greg and everyone! I have joined Bus Nuts but have not yet renewed my FMCA…gotta do that. At any rate, I look forward to talking more. Gotta post about this water now!

You guys are exactly right….as usual, after reading the post, it hit me….I went out to the coach and looked at the driver info display. What I was seeing as coolant temp, I think is the Trans temp. It is a thermometer beside a circle with tick marks around the circle with level waves in the circle.
That makes sense that I’m seeing 205-221 for trans temp!
Back to coolant temp, I have never seen it even close to 210, so the fan shouldn’t be on.
Guess I should wear my glasses more…..
thanks

Thanks Jon.
OK, if it is something external then do you think that we can go ahead and put the system together and get it charged and working without this part? It sounds like if it got into an icing situation it would not work right. We are interested in getting it put back together and at least functioning again without having to wait weeks for this part. I understand that you are just guessing, and so are we.
Thank you for the help

PS Yes, you have given me that advice about solving the leans before, Jon. I am less green now and do understand this all the way now. Before I was hoping for some way out of the leans. But alas, the only way out is through. It will be fun now that I understand things better.

Mine does the same thing Roger, when you sort it out, let me know. I have to spend some quality time with the SMX controls once I get all my AV stuff done.

One should only provide the advise for which one is asked. And, free advise is just that.
Most shoppers and newbies don’t even know what they don’t know. The problem, with answering a question for them is that you formulate your response based on your experience, with your coach, and your converter, and your capabilities and your technical and financial resources. Thus, there is the possibility that none of your answer is helpful and all you have done is further confuse the issue. Basically, the other edge of the sword. This is not speculation, this is fact of experience. I was one of the first Vantare’ owners on the POG asking questions about a few of the subsystems. I got responses back from Liberty, Marathons, Royal, etc. owners. On some specific issues, the information I received was completely in error, as my Vantare’ 26-ton barge of happiness was a completely different animal.
With all that said, I will try to assist in any way I can if a query pops up and someone needs help. But let us remember the Jerry McGuire routine “Help me help you!”
The devil is in the details on these 26-ton road rockets. The details needed to help are all the specifics you can possibly provide about an issue, the involved systems and the components. And, pictures really do help. This applies to coaches you are shopping and those you own.
You might think that this applies to issues which arise after purchase, but I don’t think so. We will all eventually sell our coaches. Sooner or later the next owner will have these issues as well. Plus, converters seemed to have built many coaches, in their own line, with the same techniques and subsystems in some age bracket. The more detail provided helps the next person find the same answer without as much of the pain.
O.K., that’s $2 worth of IMHO.
Regards. Good Luck. Safe travels.

I lived in Omaha, Ne till June 2007 before we owned our Bus. There was a small campground in Bellevue next to the Missouri River, Haworth (?) but the last I heard it had flooded badly and I don’t know that it ever reopened. That said, there is a small city campground, in Papillion a southside location that is really quite nice. Not a large park. I had no problems with my 40′ 2 yrs ago when last we visited old friends. It is adjacent to the 370 bypass off I-80 from Lincoln, and very easy to the stadium. The park’s name, Walnut Creek and is the rvparkreviews.com……somewhat limited, but to my best recollection, very nice in its minimalistic way. If you are there, stop in to Hector’s Baja Mexican restaruant on Pacific….great food. Good friend. Enjoy

You maybe able to patch it but I never mess around with patching them if its in Sidewall that’s not good I don’t want a tire failure ever I would put new one on if the rest of tires are in good shape but that’s up to you if it’s on the tag that’s better than a steer tire

Ok Guys,
I have a Marathon with the roof tops… once I figured out what buttons I needed to press on my dash air I did have to use the wipers the other day… but just for my knowledge do you OTR users use the OTR while parked as well or is that just for while underway and you have rooftops or something similiar when you are parked…. just curious… I saw a liberty at our park in HHI a few weeks ago and didn’t see anything on the roof but also heard something AC sounding from one of the bays and was just curious.

Me too, keep the shutters closed unless your using the cruiseairs while driving, then they MUST be open. I’m assuming the shutters are like the ones Liberty uses.

Don’t but it sight unseen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take the time now or you will be taking the time latter with your own bucks. The other thing to consider is hire or pay expenses for someone on this site to go inspect it. Believe me it will be the best and cheapest money you’ll spend. If its in Calif ill do it for free. 559-901-6426 or you can email me at

CI-4 seems to be for high sulfur fuels than are currently being sold at the pumps. Could it be the CI-4 requirement is for off road use engines that may be ran of higher sulfur fuels?
